Seller's Description

Howdy Van Folk - One-of-a-kind custom hightop Chevy Express van with full interior camper build for sale here. Four Season camper - great for skiing and snow, also awesome for summer adventures in the sun. A cabin on wheels! Asking $18,900. The Mechanics: -2007 Chevy Express 1500 -AWD/4x4 - The key to a perfect ski/mountain van. Handles great in the heavy snow and rain. And still gets the same gas mileage as my old 4Runner (16-18 MPG, factory, whether empty or full of allll my stuff. I’ve tested this.) -5.3L V8 engine & newly rebuilt transmission - Very ubiquitous mechanical parts in most GM large towing vehicles for decades. Warranty coverage on transmission. -New Nokian Outpost AT Tires, less than 15,000 miles on them. Best in class for all terrain, all conditions. Warranty coverage on tires. -Odometer - Just shy of 155,000 miles (and driving!) -Clean Title -I’ve got all the relevant repair paperwork and can provide full ownership history + Carfax up to when I bought the vehicle — can also provide VIN for you to run your own Carfax after you prove you’re a real, interested person not one of these here internet bots or silly scammers The Build: -Custom fiberglass hightop to match auto body -Cedar interior build. I smile every time I step back in, because it’s such a unique Express build and it smells incredible. -Tons of storage space. Creative cabinets, custom bin drawers, and sliding marine-style cubbies. I fit my entire 1 bedroom apartment in here at one point, skis, boards, and all. The photos don’t do the storage space justice. -Electrical System - 12V Marine Grade Deep Cycle Battery, 40A Renogy Solar Charge Controller, 1000 Watt Inverter + additional outlets, and 100 Watt Solar Panel up top. Also has a nifty Battery Alternator Connection switch up front that allows the back battery to charge while driving - great for cloudy or winter days. I never had to worry about power. -Heater - Custom 5KW, 3 gal tank diesel heater hooked up to the electrical system. The van is also fully insulated + the pine is great for keeping heat in colder conditions. -12V Refrigerator cooler (plugs in up front) -Running water (16 gal tank) + sink with an electrical pump and optional propane heater - Currently unhooked as I don’t really use, but can show you how it works. I recommend a new grey water tank. There is also an outdoor shower system. -Propane burner camping-style stovetop -Tons of interior light including three windows for natural, two over dome lights, a reading lamp, and LEDs all around. Creates a cozy cabin atmosphere at night. -Auxiliary light bar installed for better high beams while driving on rural roads -Custom sunshades to keep up front cool in summer sun and provide overnight privacy/stealth when camping -Exterior Slick Locks cargo van locks ($300 value) and interior locking system to keep living space safe from theft. -Vehicle is about 9’ tall, similar dimensions to Sprinter Van. Interior standing room of 6’4”. I’m 6’3” and can fully stand tall and do full-on yoga sessions inside! Huge plus. -The bed is small (75” x 45”), definitely comfiest slept solo. But like I said I’m 6’3” and my girlfriend and I both fit. Snug. I’ve had ideas for a bed build out project, which I’m happy to share with you too, but it never bothered me enough to actually do. I sleep comfortably and fully straight end-to-end. -Built in desk table top -Lots of opportunities for ongoing projects if that interests you Odds & Ends: -17 year-old previous cargo vehicle. It’s got some bruises, quirks, and character, little things like special ways to close the doors, for example. Also: -Dent on bottom left side body. Took place long before build out (showed on Carfax) and does not affect drive or interior. -The fiberglass hightop wrap has some texture to it - that’s how it came out wrapped, first time!, DIY - zero discoloration or shown wear. -Two exterior door handles do not open from the outside (inside works fine), so could use replacing. I’ve teetered on doing them but didn’t bother me enough. Back side door and driver side door. -Gentle reminder to new buyers: despite this van’s one-of-a-kind interior build and awesome mechanics for its age, it’s not a $100,000 Sprinter, nor brand new. There will be fixes and tinkering. This is DIY van life :) Check out the video linked here and if you’re interested let’s do a follow-up video tour. Then come see it in person! I’ve got it in Los Angeles. I may be willing to drive to meet you somewhere (across the western US) for the drop off, depending on our deal and timeline. Happy Vanning, G
