This van has made everyday feel like a mini-adventure. Its served well as my daily vehicle for over 5 years. I bought it with 25,000 miles on it and it has been so freeing to have everything I need with me wherever I go. The van gets 23 to 26 MPG consistently. The tight turning radius, short wheelbase, and back-up camera makes it very easy to maneuver and fit into all typical parking spaces. Unfortunately I now need a vehicle with four seats so I need to sell it. The bench seat fits three people. This 2500 Ram Promaster has a turbo-ecodiesel 3.0-liter four-cylinder engine, front wheel drive and an automatic transmission (automated manual). Tires are upgraded to BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2s. The original list of options can be found in the photo gallery. Build Info This is a DIY build. There is room for you to complete it to meet your needs. I’ve installed; sound proofing & insulation in the walls, floor, and ceiling (a combination of 1” foil backed polystyrene with additional 3M Thinsulate in the walls), cedar ceiling, framing for bed and bench, roof rack with three 100 watt rigid Inergy Solar Storm Gen 1 Solar Panels, bamboo flooring, sink with rechargeable water pump and gravity grey water system, and a compost toilet. I hired a professional RV company to install the Maxxair Fan Delux 10 spd and to bring the solar panel cable in through the roof to the inside of the van. I purchased high quality insulated window covers for the back and side windows. For the front cab, Heatshields from Eurocamper reflect the sun and provide privacy. I have mosquito screen covers for the cab door windows that allows the windows to be rolled all the way down or metal window air vents with screens to allow air flow which for us felt more secure while sleeping. A bug screen at the slider door is held on by magnets which can be removed for the winter. For heat, I used a Mr. Buddy Heater and for cooking, I used a one burner butane stove. The Natures Head Compost Toilet works wonderfully and is vented to the outside with a low-profile mushroom vent. I also installed a 110 V /15 Amp plug on the outside of the van to be able to connect to shore power. I have used the Kodiak solar power station by Inergy to run the compost toilet fan, the Dometic CFX3 35-Liter Portable Refrigerator, the maxxair vent, lighting, and to recharge my devices. I plan to keep the Kodiak power station/generator. The 300 watts of solar panels on the roof are ready for you to adapt to your solar system or powerbank. Maintenance and Quirks I have taken good care of this van and have service records to share. Recent repairs include; Front axels, flange and wheel bearing, clutch and flywheel (the van does not have a foot clutch pedal but is an automatic manual transmission so it has an internal clutch), clutch actuator motor, and glow plugs. There is a general warning/indicator light that comes on intermittently that has been deemed to not effect safety or drivability. Engine and transmission are good. Transmission garage says the indicator light could be related to an available software upgrade. Tire indicator light comes on (this seems to be a normal phenomenon for Ram Promasters). Spare tire is available but not underneath vehicle. Cable had to be cut to access spare tire. Oil change completed at 131,280.
