Seller's Description
Please read this before you continue down to the specs of Big Lou - This van needs a new transmission (which I have found out is unfortunately common in a few models of Promasters after 150K miles or so). I have things lined up to replace it in the early spring of 2024, at which point I will update this listing and increase price appropriately. The reason I have decided to post the van prematurely is on the off chance you may "know a guy" (or maybe you're the "guy") or live in an area where servicing a RAM van is much more convenient (and maybe even cheaper) than mine, and buying this camper van at a discounted cost could work out for you in the long run (I live on an island and the timeline and travel distance to get this van serviced has proven a greater challenge than anticipated). Please, no criticism. Reach out if you are interested or have questions, I'm very responsive. I'd be happy to include tow/shipping cost in the listed sale price within reason. The engine itself has been inspected and is in great mechanical condition. I replaced the alternator earlier in the summer. Tires have a ton of life left. Regular oil changes and routine service (I have records from the 2 previous owners and myself). I have been quoted about $4000-5000 for reference, for a new transmission, in my area. 150,xxx miles Features: 200 Watts of Renogy Solar 2 300AH Renogy Batteries RV rooftop Brisk Il A/C - 13,500 btu Soft Start installed on A/C to allow it to run on a 2,000 Predator Inverter Generator Victron Bluetooth Solar Charge Controller 20 gallons of fresh water 8 gallons of gray water 4 gallon hot water heater Dry Flush Toilet + multiple extra cartridges Kitchen Sink - great water pressure Outdoor Shower Shore Power hook up Induction Cook Top Alpicool Fridge that can swap between 12v or 120 Back up camera Why I love this van: SUPER live-able. Ample space to move around, easy to drive (fits in a standard parking spot), tons of storage, plenty of power, great water pressure. Everything you need to live comfortably for an extended period, without being an over the top, bulky/heavy build out. Why I'm selling (before the transmission went and flopped): I'm a hang glider pilot and do a lot of up hill and off road driving to mountain launches. This isn't an off-road vehicle by any means. While van life was fun while it lasted, it doesn't make much sense anymore for the type of driving/hauling I need to do while I travel.
