2021 Ford Transit 250 High Roof Extended LWB Camper Van. Self built using all Victron components for reliability. This build was designed to be simple and comfortable, maximizing space so it never feels cramped. The factory walls were left untouched so we can sleep “East to West” with room to spare, and I’m 6 feet tall! 76 inches of sleeping space head to toe on a 10 inch thick memory foam mattress, so much room you won’t believe you’re sleeping in a van. We installed a residential style mini split AC and heater for the low power usage, nearly silent operation, and the ability to heat or cool at the tap of the remote. No gas heaters and no noisy roof fans needed. Our sink works with a self priming Dometic faucet meaning the only plumbing is one rubber hose for fresh water and one for the grey water, both running to 6 gallon tanks under the sink. The ICECO fridge/freezer can run on 120 or 12 volt, and has loads of space for frosty brews and ice cream alike. We used a propane camp stove on the counter with a 6 foot line running to a grill style tank. You could do the same or install a gas or electric cook top directly in the counter, but we chose to have the freedom of something we could store. The van itself has received all major services and routine maintenance with no issues. The simplicity of a naturally aspirated V6 really is comforting especially when you’re out in the wilderness, and the 17-18 mpg sure beats an old Class B.
