Seller's Description

Eden is a van. Specifically, Eden is a 1991 Ford E-350 Extended Club Wagon that started her life as a California Department of Transportation highway van. I have made some incredible memories in this van. My life circumstances have shifted (I'm moving from Denver to NYC). While I’m sad to let it go, I am also excited for it to find an owner who will appreciate the van as much as I have. This is a custom build. I bought the van in June 2021. Eden rides like a dream and goes anywhere with her 6” lift and 30” tires. Clean title, accident free, passed Colorado emissions test in June 2021. The odometer shows 65,000 miles but van actually has 165,000 miles based on vehicle history report. She spent most of her life in California so is rust-free. She has also had a lot of work done in the past 2 years, listed below. While it’s been a journey to get her to where she is now, she is now thoroughly tested and fixed up, and I’d easily trust her for many tens of thousands of miles. As you might guess from looking at the photos, this van gets a lot of love and spreads goodwill everywhere she goes. Seeing the smiles she puts on everyone’s face has been a really special part of owning the van :). Custom build: * Bed with memory foam mattress (70 inches wide, halfway between Queen and King) * Wood-burning stove * Pull-out kitchen (cutting board, stove, silverware drawer, and two large storage areas) * Underbed storage * Extra storage cubbies easily accessible from bed * Floor was insulated extensively * Blackout curtains with magnetic attachments * Wooden floor in “living room” area * All wood is Baltic Birch * Custom details like the blue corduroy sun visors and handle in the back * Materials for the build were ~$3,000 * Everything you need to take your first trip will be included: mattress, cooking stove, cutting board, pot/pan/silverware, cooler, charcoal for stove, large water containers, external battery / jump pack, folding table, underseat storage, etc. The van was designed specifically to accommodate some of these items - like the cooking stove and cutting board - and others will just be nice to have and will no longer serve me :). Mechanical improvements: * Previous owner mostly completed a 6” lift with new suspension, etc. and 30” tires. In August 2021, Rock Solid 4x4 in Greenwood Village, CO custom fabricated a joint for the radius arm to complete the 6” lift the right way ($1500). Based on my research, a 6” lift on a 3rd generation E350 costs at least $5K including parts and labor. * When the van was purchased in June 2021, it had not been driven for a while and we replaced the radiator ($800), alternator ($200), and battery ($200). * Since then, we have kept up with maintenance (regular oil changes, replaced rear brake differential fluid in January 2023, replaced fuel pump in May 2023, replaced fuel filter in June 2023) * We fully rebuilt the transmission in June 2023 at Best Western Transmission in Fort Collins, CO ($3000). The new transmission has a 3-year, unlimited mile warranty. Quirks: * In a big rain storm, some water will leak in through the back windows and the back-right (passenger side) window. There are youtube videos on how to fix this; just have not gotten around to it. * The A/C needs to be regularly recharged to work properly. We’ve done this before and it works but it does run out so the van does not currently have a working A/C. * Passenger side sliding door only opens from the outside and takes some playing with to lock. This may be a matter of just screwing it on tighter - have not really played with it. * Once every 40 or so times that I start the van, the engine starts but then stalls the next time I come to a complete stop. This is almost definitely the Idle Air Control which should be <$500 to fix. I can get it fixed and reflect the cost in the price.
