Seller's Description
This is a very well-appointed campervan with a beautiful cherry interior: I am an architect and former carpenter and built this out myself in 2018. I ordered the Transit 250 with a long wheel base and high roof from Ford, and had Ford's preferred vendor Quigley add 4WD to the van prior to delivery. Between 2018-2021 I used the van for months-long surfing and skiing trips, and spent most of 2020 camping in National Forests. I still love this van, but I'm moving to Panama and importation costs for vehicles are insanely high, so now I'm selling it. The van has 53,500 miles on it and has been very well-maintained. I purchased the extended Ford service plan and have the paperwork for all work done; everything is running smoothly and the brakes and tires are virtually brand new. The base van: 2018 Transit Cargo Van XL, Transit Long 250, High Roof, 148” Wheelbase, 3.5L EcoBoost V6 Engine, 6-Speed Automatic Overdrive with SelectShift Transmission, 3.31 Regular Rear Axle Extras ordered from Ford include: cruise control, reverse sensing system, lane alert, SYNC radio, 110v inverter/plug, heavy duty alternator, dual heavy-duty batteries. Build-out features include: > 6'-6" high ceilings > 39" x 72" bed (almost full-length twin size: I fit the bed in between the cargo support struts to add an extra 6" of bed length) > 11 feet of kitchen cabinets, including a roll-out undercounter refrigerator, and custom-built interior shelving to maximize storage space > 6 feet of kitchen counter, with a sink (drains into a five-gallon bucket) and a two-burner gas stove > 12v electrical system with (2) 200Ah batteries, ability to charge while driving and from any standard 110v outlet (solar panels are currently not working) > 12v electrical system serves refrigerator, recessed LED lighting, two small wall-mounted personal fans, one ceiling vent fan, and ports for charging electronic devices including laptops > Propane system, including sealable closet for tank, powering gas range and interior heater > Water system, including 12v pump, 25 gallon tank, sink, and shower hose at the back > Extra storage and utilities are accessible from the back > Exterior additions include a brushguard and hook system for hanging shade and rain tarps Challenges: > If you over 6'-0", you may find the bed and drivers seat position (limited by the built-in cabinets) too tight for you > The bed will be tight for two people unless they really like spooning > Both the heater and water pump are acting a little funny: they work, and I can explain the quirks associated with properly using them, but you may have to deal with changes or repairs before too long > There is no toilet: this is a common thing to simply learn to deal with in vanlife > Like many carpenters building their own living space, I never quite finished a few miscellaneous trim items; they are purely aesthetic, and you are welcome to do so if they bother you
