My wife, myself, and another couple bought this van with the intention of fulling outfitting it and starting a business building conversion vans. Two weddings, 2 houses and 3 career changes later and we can not spare the time or money to bring this project to its proper finish. That being said, we made a lot of headway for whoever ends up with this behemoth. It is a 2020 high roof 159” wheel base purchased in New Hampshire and driven straight to Michigan with no issues. We installed a 3/4” plywood subfloor over 1.75” studs with full insulation. The ceiling, walls, doors, and wheel wells have been insulated with Kilmat sound deadening pads, and mineral wool stuffed into void space where no work will need to be done (no itchy fingers). We installed sliding windows on either side of the rear half of the van slightly above where a full size mattress would eventually be stationed. We built a heavy duty 3/4” plywood box to support a 30 gallon water tank (included) over one wheel well, and a lighter, 1/2” box with a removable lid to serve as the power bank control panel for the other wheel well. These boxes haven’t been secured to the floor yet so you can decide which goes where. A webasto Air Top 2000 STC was mounted behind the drivers seat with a heavy duty support box and hinged lid around it so that it would be out of sight but able to breath easily (see photos). We tested for any leaks of exhaust gas back into the cab with a photoionization detector (supplied via our day job) and determined the seal functions properly. On the sliding door a full size window with a section that opens was installed and we drove around for ~50 miles to make sure it was safely secured.
