Seller's Description
4.8L gasoline V8, RWD, 6 speed automatic, A/C, cruise, power windows/mirrors/locks, Stabilitrack traction control, AM/FM with aux input. 15-18 highway mpg. Recent maintenance included rebuilt transmission, new off road tires, new brake discs and pads (front and rear), new shocks, new K&N air filter, A/C service, battery, coolant flush, brake system flush, differential service, oil change, and alignment. No leaks or other bad habits. This is a fun and functional van, built over the course of a year in 2020-21. It was designed with the bicyclist in mind, housing up to two bikes, safely away from prying eyes in the “garage”. Extra wide roof rails provide more space for toys, like kayaks, more bikes, SUP’s, rafts, skis, cargo boxes, etc.** Interior was designed with an “Ocean Breeze” theme, reflected in paint choice, flooring, cushions, and other soft surfaces. Dinette comfortably seats four, converting to a bed that is perfect for one, and cozy for two. Because you can't stand in here, the layout was designed so that you can prepare food, cook, and clean from the seated position. This is a completely self sufficient package with solar powered electricity, fridge, stove, electrical outlets, running water, vent fan, and toilet. All design and construction completed by a former Navy Seabee with a broad background in electrical, lighting, plumbing, insulation, sewing, flooring, fabrication, etc. With a huge assist from his lovely wife! **Van comes with the Yakima risers and extra wide cross bars, but NOT the kayak cradles shown. Many of my pics show two Yakima Skyboxes on top, the silver one is included. Also comes with traction boards and shovel, a screen house for the awning, Little Buddy heater, and a small table. If you click on the YouTube tour above, be sure to check out other videos in my "Polar Bear Express" playlist. They are more in-depth vids that will help you get to know the van. If you are interested in learning how I built it, I can email you a Word doc of our blog posts which detail the entire build. A word about the miles…: that’s not a typo, the van really has 424,000 miles! Hard to believe such a young van could possibly have that many miles, right? The dealership gave me the story, since they had serviced and maintained it since new. It had originally been bought brand new by a coast-to-coast courier named Straight Shot. So these are all highway miles, the very gentlest kind. It does have a newer engine (replaced at 290,000), and a newer transmission (replaced at 391,000). And because this was owned by a courier, and not a tradesman, the van was in remarkably good shape. Very few dents/dings, great paint, nothing tore up. As explained above, there are several new maintenance items, and everything else is in great working order. I wouldn't hesitate to take it cross country (again!) this minute.
