Seller's Description
Due to recent events my situation has gone from moderately uncomfortable to excessively. No im not living in it. Yet, but my town imposed deadline has passed, unfortunately. That being said, I dont need the money now. Price is going back up. I will shoot a video so you all can here her run. Happy holidays and God bless, from my family to yours!. Merry Christmas! Ok, this van has some history. I first saw it from the road driving by, I left a note in the mailbox and asked about it. I got a call and the guy said he bought it in California in the 70s drove it to upstate Ny twice while his house was being built. The last time he packed his stuff from his place in Cali and lived in it for a few months on the property where I found it. That was mid/upper 70s. Fast forward to 2018, this was where I found her in the woods, the pics you can see the rims are buried up to the axles from sitting 35+ years untouched. I took the battery out and put a charged one in, checked all fluids, ran a hose into a gascan from the carburetor, checked fluids, air in tires, and looked for mouse nests under hood/air cleaner. It's a chevy so of course, everything looked good, and the motor turned over twice and fired right off, like it was parked lastnight, I drove it out of the grave it was sinking into, drove it 25 miles to town where it sits now. That was 2018. Frame is great, floors are good, the corners where the doghouse sets down on(that's usual problem area) is solid still. I was gonna fix her up but never got around to it, it's all original, comes complete with black and white dial TV set and I think 8 track player, it's all fiberglass and no leaks in roof, It needs a mattress, some odds and ends inside. It is 50 years old, so it will need work to be ready to camp. Also needs to be trailered out. Has a shower and toilet, rooftop platform and ac unit that was cold still 35 years later, will need basic maintenance items, tires, plugs, brake pads/shoes,wires, electric worked when I plugged it in, has 2 large propane tanks mounted underneath not an add on, but I didn't try the propane appliances. Hot water heater, furnace, stove, fridge run propane. No generator but with a hitch mount carryall it would be my only addition to this sweet old campervan. We have since misplaced the keys, and found the title for it, go figure. Small block chevy could be a 400 or 350, th400 auto with overdrive, 44,500 miles, asking $4500 You won't find another one like her in this shape. I would consider trades, truck, cars, preferably 96 older for domestics, late models preferably foreign, I am in between jobs, few months behind, that is why I'm selling her. If I figure it out, I will definitely be keeping it.
