Seller's Description

Up for sale is my 1981 VW Vanagon. It is the perfect COVID-vacation mobile. I’m super sad to let it go but looking to buy a rental house and need the extra cash. It has 146,035 miles but only around 250 since the entire top end was redone (new heads, gaskets, seals, etc.). Runs and drives and stops great. Rust is generally not an issue except for driver side foot step (which I have a replacement, just needs welded in). It has the Wesfalia pop top with the ASI-Riviera interior (if you’re familiar). Comes with a sink and a replacement fridge. On board water tank and auxiliary battery makes camping without access to hookups easy. The back bench lays down into a bed which slept my wife and I comfortably. Pop top could easy sleep 1 or a tight 2. Passenger seat is a captains chair, meaning it turns all the way around. I have replaced many parts on it in the past few years and can provide a complete maintenance record since I’ve had it for serious buyers. Also have receipts and records from some previous owners. I will happily shoot you straight about the vehicle, the good and not so good. With a 40 year old vehicle, you’re going to have to get to know them well and be willing to make improvements along the way. Some of the highlights of what I’ve done: -New heads, gaskets, seals -New gas tank, fuel lines, sending unit, injector seals -Brakes tuned up -New tires, front end bushings, seals, bearings, and shocks -New plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter -New cold start valve, starter, and ground cable -oil changes and other routine maintenance performed regularly Some extra parts that will come with it: -CV joints and boots for you to replace the rear (was next project) -Metal for drivers side step -Double relay, some plugs, and random other small parts Vans like this are incredibly fun to drive, and you’ll make great memories you won’t soon forget. It comes with some knowledge and time (or money) put into keeping it in good shape. I’m more than happy to be a resource for the next buyer, sharing everything I’ve learned along the way and the oddities unique to this van. I’ve enjoyed my time with it and will happily keep driving it until sold. The extra cash will help with our rental property investment but I’m in no hurry to let it go for less than it’s worth. Open to offers, but keep them reasonable. Come check this van out, get behind the wheel, and fall in love!
