Seller's Description
Hello! This is my campervan Jessie! We are both Iowa born and raised! We've been on adventures from Iowa to Wyoming to Nevada, up the coast of California, and home again. I lived in her full-time for 8 months while getting my graduate degree. On her final adventure with me we have moved from Iowa to Oregon! I love her dearly, but it is time for me to part with her as I now have a cat that would require more bells and whistles to make full-time vanlife feasible. If you'd like to see some photos of Jessie in action and throughout the build, you can check out my old Instagram for her - @jessieisavan Jessie is a 2006 Chevy Express 1500 and under 200 miles away from breaking 140,000 miles. The van A/C and heat works wonderfully, although I do not have separate units for when the van is not running. The driver and passenger seats are incredibly comfortable and have supported me through 12 hours of driving with ease! Jessie's build was completed by myself, my dad, and my brother over the course of a year. The build includes 3/4" XPS foam board on the floor, 1/2" plywood subfloor, waterproof vinyl wood flooring for the floor and countertop, luan sheeting for the walls on either side of the bed, the bed in framed using 2x4s with luan for facing and the top is 1/2" plywood that is on hinges which allows for ample storage beneath the bed, a custom cut 8" memory foam mattress (size is between a full and a queen), a table that pulls out of the back of the van when the back doors are open that is the perfect height for camp chairs and is stored perfectly under the bed, a stainless steel sink with a 7 gallon grey-water container and a 5 gallon clean water container and a hand pump and additional storage under the sink, and 2 100W Renogy solar panels with a charge controller, power invertor, and two marine cell batteries hooked up to a switch panel above the sink that controls the dome light above the bed and the ceiling fan with a potential refrigerator hookup. We have also added a new bluetooth compatible radio, custom reflective window covers for the windshield and driver/passenger windows, homemade custom fabric window coverings with magnets for the windows in the back of the van, a steering wheel cover, a popsocket mount, and a solar shower (brand new and never used). The truth of the matter is that since this van has lived in the midwest for so long, the salt from the roads in the winter has caused some rusting. The van had a considerable amount of cosmetic damage when I bought it as well. However, the van runs like a charm! I have records of every repair made to the van available as well. I usually get somewhere around 14 or 15mpg when the van is filled with stuff and depending on the terrain. Although this van doesn't have all the bells and whistles, it would make a great starter van for someone who is considering vanlife, but not ready to commit to a Sprinter or Promaster level build. The van is ready to move into as soon as you are!
