Seller's Description

V6 diesel 20 MPG High roof 2500 Short wheel base (144”) Let me preface this description by saying that I am an automotive technician with 30+ years of experience, specializing in Mercedes and specifically Sprinter vans. Servicing a lot of Sprinters all ages and mileages (up to 500K) over the years, I know their typical failures and roughly what mileage they can be expected at. So, since the last thing I`d want to happen is our van breaking down far from home (or in the middle of nowhere, boon-docking), having to pay premium price for towing and repairs, not to mention ruining our vacation, I preventatively replaced parts (spared no expense) that I commonly see fail between 200 and 300k miles. This will save a lot of headaches and money for the new owner for years to come. Of course all that on top of the scheduled maintenance. Therefore the term "well maintained" does not do justice to this Sprinter. Further down will be a list of such parts. This Sprinter is every bit as reliable as one with a 100k miles, but doesn`t cost twice the money to buy. Currently at 240k miles this Sprinter starts, runs and sounds like a new one (not exaggeration). No smoke, no leaks of any kind, no warning lights on dash and everything works as the day it left the factory brand new. No rust, the van looks amazing and it is super clean inside and out. Never been smoked in, no pets.  Bought the van 7 years ago with 175k miles. We are the 2nd owners. Previously owned by a big restaurant equipment company as part of a fleet and as such, it has received scheduled maintenance. Brakes are smooth, no pulsing with about 50% pad life left front and rear. New parking brake shoes. Tires have about 40% life left and evenly worn, testament to a perfect wheel alignment. Fresh PA state inspection. I'm not going to talk about how the engine and transmission in the Sprinters are good for half a million miles, because that`s a well known fact. It is the little things around them that will leave you stranded if they are allowed to reach the end of their life cycle. Such items are (and all have been replaced on this van in the last 10-15k miles):  -Belts and all associated pulleys and bearings, alternator, A/C compressor, starter, exhaust flex pipe and tail pipe, essentially all the sensors on the engine, sway bar bushings and links, motor mounts, transmission mount, transmission cooler lines (they tend to leak due to corrosion) and probably more, that I can`t remember right now.  The new owner will get the van fully serviced. This includes the following:  -Motor oil and filter (good for 10k miles)  -Fuel filter (good for 20k)  -Air filter and cabin air filter (good for 40k)  -Transmission fluid & filter service (good for 40k)  -Differential oil (good for 80K)  It has a class 3 tow hitch with both a 4 pin flat and a 7 pin round connector and it`s wired for electric trailer brakes (just add your brake controller, plug&play) and a battery charger wire in case your trailer has a battery.  Awesome sound system with sub and amp, 7" touch screen Pioneer head unit with wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto, CD/DVD, USB Aux input, Bluetooth, Detachable face plate, Remote, On-screen navigation through your phone, Back-up camera w/ IR night vision.  The Camper:  Built for 2 people traveling for unlimited time, but not designed for "Vanlife". It is suitable for off-grid camping with the fridge running 24/7, perfect for primitive camp sites, as well as full hook-ups in an RV resort. Gives you the most freedom to travel with a private flushing toilet, and shower with plumbing, without the compromises of a clumsy RV or even a long wheel base Sprinter. Being short wheel base, it is agile, quick, fits in a normal parking space and can turn around in tight places when you get lost. We started camping with it 7 years ago as a bare bones cargo van with an air mattress in it, adding features over the years as we felt we needed them. This process took about 5 years and we`ve been enjoying it in it`s current state for the past 2 years. Last year we added a lithium house battery, replacing the 2 lead acid ones and that, with the 200w solar panels on the roof enables us to stay off-grid for any length of time without having to start the engine to charge the battery. Starter battery is isolated from the house battery when engine is not running, so you can never accidentally drain it down and get stranded in the wild.  About the camper features:  -Flushing toilet and shower with full plumbing, 20gal fresh water, 6gal hot water, 20gal waste water with RV style sewage connection/dump  -12v 3.3cu.ft compact fridge  -200w solar electric system (Renogy) w/ 100ah lithium battery  -Diesel powered hydronic heat and hot water system (fueled from the van's fuel tank, no need to carry and exchange propane tanks)  -Water heater also works with 110V electric, when hooked up to shore power  -Camp ground hook ups: 30A electric, water and sewage. The house battery also automatically being charged while connected to shore power  -Fixed bed with 4" foam mattress (we have the best sleep on it)  -Reversible flow Fantastic Fan with remote control and rain sensor  -Complete black out shades - you can have the lights on inside at night and outside the van appears completely dark (stealth camping), also you can sleep in it daytime,   outside light will not keep you up  -Attached Dometic Cabana awning/screen room/tent  -Swivel passenger seat  -New, never used mattress cover and shower curtain
