1983 VW Vanagon (Westfalia)

Sadly it is time to say goodbye to my beloved Vern. In fact, the day it sells will be a sad day indeed. However, I look forward to sharing its magic with another adventurous spirit! Vern is a 1983 VW Vanagon Westfalia full camper, which I have owned since 2007. This Vanagon has delivered many adventures and countless memories. I originally bought it in Stockton, California but it has been in Steamboat Springs and now, Durango, Colorado for most of the time I have owned it. When I purchased Vern in 2007, the odometer read 134,141 and was not working. It still does not work and therefore, it still reads 134,141. So, all I can truly say about the engine is that it RUNS GREAT!! And given that I only took it out on adventures, I have put less than 20,000 miles on it since purchasing it. That being said, I have done several improvements over the years, most of which have been done in the past two years. Again, Vern runs GREAT! Recently, I have spent a lot of time, energy, and money on both mechanical and cosmetic repairs. The van is VERY CLEAN, comfortable, and FUN! It has very little rust and besides needing a new paint job, it is in REALLY GOOD condition. The propane stove works great and it has an interior light mounted above. I have never used the fridge or water system so I cannot provide much information in that regard. I do believe the fridge will work with a new pilot light.
