Seller's Description
1997 Dodge Ram 2500 camper van with custom sound system, loads of storage, barn wood paneling, and kitchen. I am so in love with this van, and I am only letting it go because I am looking to upgrade to a van with 3-person capacity. I originally purchased the van barebones from a used car dealership in September 2018 and started the conversion the next month. - I utilized lightweight Knauf glass mineral wool insulation for the floor and walls to provide thermal and acoustic insulation, and lightweight sheet insulation for the ceiling also chosen for its acoustic performance. - The walls and ceiling are tasteful barn wood paneling made from pine. - The sleeping platform is built using pine board and is full-sized+, but sleeping pad/mattress will not be included in sale. - The kitchen area is built from salvaged wood, including a salvaged IKEA wood counter top. It features a lightweight stick-and-peel subway tile backsplash which is antiviral and non-microbial and super easy to clean. The cabinets offer plenty of storage for camp kitchen essentials and pantry. - Storage for a cooler is located in the trunk adjacent to kitchen area, and the old-fashioned Coleman cooler seen in the pictures can be included! The trunk was built using salvaged wood and can double as a seating area. - Additional hideaway storage located next to trunk, in the corner of sleeping area/kitchen, as well as alongside both walls. - Bulk storage is located under the bed and is accessible from the rear of the van. This storage area is separated into 2 compartments, both of which can easily accommodate 2 large milk crates with plenty of room to spare (I store 2 camp chairs + my tent alongside the 2 milkcrates in a single compartment). - There is a custom Pioneer sound system with surround sound speakers (2 speakers in front and 2 "tweakers" and 2 larger sets in rear) and a nice-sized bass located just behind the driver's seat, allowing for a truly spectacular sound experience. I am not a sound expert so cannot speak to the specs, but it was custom installed by a late DJ who loved drum and bass, so expect it to hit hard and sound heckin' great, even with the windows down and cruising at 80mph on the highway. Tires were replaced at 118k. Oil change and maintenance July 2022; can provide repair history since 2018 purchase. Low mileage for age (130k), with an average of ~17mpg. Manual windows and manual locks, and the heat and A/C both work great. The exterior of the van has a tasteful sprinkling of graffiti due to its time in the city, and some less tasteful rust from its time outdoors--a coverup mural would be a lovely way to adorn it with your own artful touch! The interior is gorgeous but needs minor repair work in the rear flooring due to a leak through the broken passenger side tail light. Pickup from Philadelphia, PA.
