Seller's Description
Say Hello to Cassie the Chassis! She is a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter (Campervan Conversion in 2021) we lived in full-time to travel around the US and Canada. It is an all-electric setup with an induction stove top and electric water heater, powered by 700Watts of solar panels. The van was used in a flower delivery business in Florida (no rust, no cold winters) before we converted in 2021, so all RV components in there have only seen 30.000miles of travel and many electrical components are still under manufacturer warranty! Cassie has RWD and we have used her for light off-roading both in sand (she can tackle e.g. the dirt path in Great Sand Dunes National Park) and on snow (we often take her back-country skiing). Especially uphill the RWD has really strong traction as all the weight is on the back tires. She's not lifted at all though so ground clearance might become an issue for heavier off-roading There are countless reasons why we believe Cassie is the perfect campervan, so we'll stick to the main ones for now: - Cassie is fully electric! Induction cooktop, water heater, water pumps, coffee maker & waffle maker are included and work like you were home. No worrying about propane, no setting up a loud generator and no extra cost for you to buy/refill them. - Cassie is a home! When converting Cassie into our home, we chose the highest quality products from companies that trust their products enough to give them a long warranty. After 30.000 miles of travel, we have yet to have our first electric/water problem or outage, which is mostly unheard of in store-bought RVs. - Cassie is built for Adventure! Slide out bike rack for two bikes, ski storage, a large garage and all-mountain tires get you and your gear where you want to be. The large diesel tank (26gal), solar (700W) + alternator (750W) chargers & water tanks (30gal fresh, 16gal grey) keep you off the grid for up to 10 days. A 5kW diesel heater and 2 MaxxAir fans keep you comfortable in temperatures from -30 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. The hot outdoor shower is perfect after a day of hiking or biking. - Cassie is safe and easy to drive! We test drove over 20 vans before deciding to purchase Cassie. A Ford Transit or ProMaster just don't drive as easy and smooth as a Mercedes. The large privacy tinted windows behind the seats and in the back doors convinced us. Being able to see everything around while driving makes Cassie feel like driving a larger SUV, not at all like a cargo van or RV. She also fits into most normal parking spots. All service and maintenance is taken care of and is documented. Service B has just been completed at 175.000 miles. The Mercedes V6 Diesel engine will easily go +300k miles. We've seen multiple van like this one well beyond the 350k mile mark. We get about 18-21 MPG depending on the terrain. We made sure to do a lightweight build so you can load a ton of your own stuff for adventures (you can add an additional load of ~2,500 lbs). There are some dents throughout the van on the exterior, nothing major and no rust, since any scratches have been detailed and sealed. Van is in great shape. Title is clean, the BlueTec recall is taken care of and emissions test has been passed in March 2023. We used Rivnuts for the entire conversion, so there won't be any rust and you can easily use bolts to hang different shelves / cabinets without having to drill holes or take off the wall panels. More info on why we used Rivnuts: https://faroutride.com/crossnut/ That's only one example of how we built out this van to last another decade.
