Seller's Description
This is a 2005 sprinter with a failing Mercedes engine. It has been diagnosed by two different shops as loss of compression in multiple cylinders. Although it currently runs and passes smog, there is no telling how far it will go before complete failure. It broke down on me in Elko, NV. I have invested over $5,000 into it in order to get it transported to Albany in a running condition. I now live in Alaska and do not have the time or ability to be present for a new engine to be installed. The estimated cost for a new engine is $10,000-15,000. Everything else should be in good working order as far as camping equipment/appliances and the rest of the vans driving components. Please let me know if you are seriously interested. $6,000, plus the cost of a new engine will still put your investment costs, below re-sale value of a running camper van. This is a good deal.
