Seller's Description

Meet ‘Sophie’, my converted 2011 Mercedes [Freightliner] Sprinter high top camper van! I am selling her because I will be traveling internationally for the foreseeable future. The reason I bought this particular conversion van is because Marc, a contractor, was selling her. This was his sixth buildout. So he’s cracked the code on what you need and where it should go. There truly isn’t a thing I would change about her build out. Marc also did a professional job, so not only is the van practical and efficient, it is beautifully and tastefully finished. Virtually all maintenance has been done by Mercedes dealers by not just myself, but also Marc and the original owner. When I bought the van, I did a background check on it. There were no damage or accident reports (and I have had none). It got a score of 90 (the report said that most vehicles this van’s age got a score of 75-86). Lucky for you, because I am a retired, solo female traveler with zero mechanical skills, before I first headed out in 2020, I took her to the dealership and instructed them to replace anything they saw that might need repair or replacement so I wouldn’t have to worry about being stranded somewhere, and they sure went to town with that directive:) Mechanically, Sophie runs great, and is a champ climbing mountains. I love that she feels spacious inside despite the fact that she fits in a normal parking spot -- and that I can fully stand up in her. I cannot emphasize enough what a fine build out Marc did on her! Marc replaced the tires and brakes in 2019. There are some scuffs and minor rock dings, and one small dent on the right front corner and a crack on her rear right wheel trim piece. I repaired a small rock crack on the windshield. Once a year, I spray over some rust spots with Artic White #147. COMPLETE SPECS: VIN: WDRPE7CC4B5525325 MILEAGE: 195,000 A well maintained diesel can easily go 400-500,000 miles. MODEL: FTL-F2CM144 TITLE: Clean TRANSMISSION : Automatic FUEL: Diesel [only needs oil change every 10,000 miles if you use the recommended oil]. I usually get around 20 mpg and have all of my fuel records with gallons and the milage since I bought her WEIGHT: I had her weighed after I packed for my trip and she was just under 6900 pounds DRIVE: Rear wheel SIDE MIRRORS: Three angle mirrors each side for excellent visibility CYLINDERS: V6 CLEARANCE: Height: 9’3” (approximately) DIMENSIONS: 78” wide/94” with mirrors out x 19’5” long (approximately) ● SOLAR POWER: (2) Rooftop 100 watt Solar Panels with interior easy-to-read status gauge near frig. I have NEVER run out of juice, even when the day was cloudy. According to Marc, the 12 volt 100 Amp hour battery is a standard battery, so whenever it needs replacement, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg. The solar runs all the interior lights, water pump, frig and USB ports. Status monitor under the bed by the kitchen area. ● 110V POWER: Power Tech Pure Sine Inverter. 1000 watt continuous/2000 watt surge. Invertek 50044850. This jewel converts the 12 volt battery power to a standard 110 volt outlet underneath the kitchen sink (where the driver’s seat turns around to use the counter as a desk). Remote on/off switch by frig so you don’t have to climb under the bed. ● FRIG: Dometic brand (ERB) 12 volt roll out chest refrigerator with alarm and temperature control. CFX40W SKU: 51009105306637. 38L capacity. Padded seat on top of frig cabinet acts as both a seat and the step to climb onto the bed. I have never bought more food than could fit in the frig, so it seems to have adequate capacity. ● HEATER: Interior Cabin Heater ESPAR Diesel Heater and fan with thermostatic control. Runs off the diesel tank and has a shut off so you don’t inadvertently run out of gas. I think I jiggled a wire as the thermostat has been wonky. I bought a replacement thermostat but haven't messed with it since I don't use the heater. ● VENTS: ○ Skylight vent - (doubles as an Emergency Exit). Screened. ○ Exhaust Vent - thermostatic and speed controlled, vents air in or out fan, skylight. Screened. ● CHAIRS AND SEATS: Two bucket seats that swivel. The Driver’s seat turns around so you can use the kitchen counter as a desk. ( Alternatively, you can use the adjustable height fold up table [30” x 18” tabletop - which stores under the kitchen counter] and the fold up chair to sit inside the cabin area) ● INTERIOR LIGHTING: One over kitchen counter, and one over the pillow area on bed, plus six dimmer LED lights for bright or ambient lighting of the entire cabin ● USB PORTS: (3) Dual USB ports (one on each bedside plus one by the ‘desk’ part of kitchen counter ● WATER: (2) Six gallon fresh water containers plus a six gallon gray water container are stored under the bar sink. There is also a back up five gallon container in case you plan to go out for a long time or go in the desert. An automatic pump runs the bar sink. ● STOVE TOP: Flame King dual gas burners: one large and one small burner. Runs off portable LP tank in the cabinet underneath. ● KITCHEN: Kitchen counter (with burners and sink) is 57” long by 20.75” wide with a thick polyurethane finish. Underneath the counter is a cabinet holding the water tanks and pump. The other side has a large drawer for utensils, and the cabinet below has plenty of storage for the portable LP tanks, tools and more. There is also a funnel with a long tube to the outside that can be used as a urinal to the outside. ● STEREO: Alpine CD/USB/Advanced Bluetooth with Sirius XM Tuner #CDE-SXM 145BT (owners manual) ○ SPEAKERS: Blaupunket 8” Amplified Subwoofer GTHS50 (owners manual) ● MATTRESS: Super comfy, high quality 6” memory foam mattress, just about Queen sized [ 57” wide x 73” long]. There are four large hidden storage areas under the mattress to store valuables. Two each by head and foot for easy access. ● CHEST OF DRAWERS: Portable three drawer chest for clothes (fits under bed) ● TOILET: Five gallon bucket and lid is used as a nighttime or emergency toilet. I dump any waste daily. Every few days, I pour my soapy gray water into the bucket, swish it around, and then dump that down a proper toilet. Roughly once a month, I give it a thorough cleaning. This method has worked great (even with #2:) ● LOTS OF BUILT-IN STORAGE In addition to the two kitchen cabinets, there are the following storage areas: ○ Under the bed: There are two shelves. A long 20” x 73”, a shorter wider 47” x 30” which stores the pop up screen room (and a little room for other things), and then underneath these areas you have a 61” x 20” space under the long shelf (some frig space takes up the missing 12”), and then a huge open cavity of 64” x 45” where I store my bike (with front wheel off). There are two bike mounts I moved and just use to keep my storage tubs from shifting Needs a ball to tow.
