This Van is located in the Reno/Tahoe Area. Up for sale is my fully converted Sprinter van. This van is ready as is to hit the road and be your home or weekend escape pod. It is fully insulated for 4 season comfort and has served as a mobile base camp on numerous ski, surf, climbing, and biking trips. Conversion includes a 20 ga. water tank, pump, faucet, sink, large butcher block counter space, under bench storage, pullout drawers and an overhead cabinet. An undermount 5 gallon propane tank supplies fuel to a 3 burner stovetop and oven unit as well as a mighty Propex heater which can be set on a thermostat and will self-regulate the internal heat of the van. A large solar panel mounted on the roof powers as 12v circit with a refrigerator, lights, water pump, and reading lamp over the bed. The bed quickly and easily converts to sleep 2+ people on new cushy 8" memory foam mattress. In addition to solar, the house batteries (2x 6v 200Ah AGM wired to create 1 robust 12v bank) can be charged from the vehicle's alternator and controlled via switch on the dash. A 1500w alternator provides enough 120v power to run a coffee grinder, blender, etc. The passenger seat swivels to face a cushioned bench toward the bed. A large storage area under the bed can accommodate tools, building material, bikes, climbing, surf, paragliding gear, etc. The van is sitting on BF Goodrich KO2 AT tires with an additional KO2 spare. All 4 shocks were recently upgraded with Bilstein front struts and Agile Offroad Fox 2.0 rears custom valved to balance the weight of a loaded conversion Sprinter. The van is powered by the mightly Mercedes 3.0l turbo diesel and has great fuel economy for a vehicle of this size. (My typical MPG ranged from 18-21). A class 4 trailer hitch is ready to tow whatever you need, I used it only to haul bikes. I am the second owner, the odometer currently reads 126,000 miles and has been regularly serviced at Mercedes dealerships. The van has some battle scars (dents) but has a clean title and is mechanically sound. I built this van as a versatile full-time liveaboard self-sustained, off-grid home on wheels and could not have been more comfortable or appreciative of how easy and comfortably this vehicle will sustain van life. The Conversion This is a DIY conversion that in some areas is intentionally over-engineered to withstand the rigors of backroads and moderate off-highway travel. It is designed for longevity and to be simple, easy to fix with common tools and generic parts. It is fully insulated with Blue Denim R19 for 4 season use. Propane is delivered into the van through a flexible rubber hose to a custom 4-way manifold. Each appliance has an independent shut-off valve for added safety and customization. There is an additional port that is plugged and unused at the moment but can be easily tied into to run propane to the rear of the van for a BBQ or garage based hot water shower system.
