Van is framed out and insulated, with plywood decked floor and floating laminate flooring, 3 inches of Havelock sheep’s wool insulation all around, custom built window bump outs for extra sleeping room, a beautiful cedar ceiling, spacious sink, cabinets and pantry in the kitchen area, finish carpentry accents throughout, a total of 64 gallons of on board water tanks and a massive under bed garage for storage. We designed the van with practicality and stealth on the outside, and comfort and spaciousness on the inside. The custom built, insulated partition wall with a dead bolted door, provides privacy, security and extra temperature regulation. There is nothing like closing the little door and feeling like you are in a little cabin in the woods. This van is already great for the weekend trip, but was designed with off-grid, full time living in mind. To complete this buildout 100%, one would need to finish the electricity and plumbing, and install a cook top stove in the counter space reserved for this. Back doors and sliding door were also left unfinished as we intended to put in port hole windows on the back and a larger window on the sliding door. The van has electric wiring run through conduit behind the walls, and is ready to be hooked up to solar or the car battery. For the time being, we utilize a YETI 500 power station charged on the car batter while driving, which runs the Dometic Fridge and Maxxair Fan and charges any devices, like phones, computers, etc. Gets 15 mi/gallon on average. We own title and registration, have not required maintenance, up to date on oil changes. We began this build in July 2021, and intended to finish it this year, but our growing family has shifted our priorities toward settling down in one place for now! We are motivated and would love for our Home on Wheels to go to a loving person, couple or family who wants to bring the finishing touches and get her on the road.
