Seller's Description

2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Van 15 passenger extended. We have had it for four years. We bought it from our church, they bought it brand new. They used it for youth group trips to Mexico, Arkansas and Colorado (from Oklahoma). We have since converted it from a passenger van to a camping van. We have taken it to probably 25 states and local around Oklahoma. I am mechanically inclined and would trust it to take me anywhere. We built it to do dry camping in BLM lands which can be far off the beaten path so reliability is a must. There haven’t been any accidents and no smoking and no pets. Interior: Passenger seat swivels. Microwave is under the sink area. We have the sink hooking up to 2.5 gallon water jug with spout (the disposable kind from any grocery store). We refill with one gallon containers or buy a new one. The faucet to the sink is USB rechargeable. There is some storage under the sink and two cabinets above the sink. A butane stove is included. The sink area also has a coffee pour over arm with funnel. Pull the arm out, add funnel with filter and coffee grounds, place coffee cup underneath and pour hot water over coffee grinds. There is a mattress topper on the 8” foam mattress. There is a side cubby storage area next to the bed with several compartments. We use long plastic storage bins under the bed; one for clothes and one for food. There is a rear AC and roof fan. The roof vent fan is DC powdered. The AC unit in the van itself works great and also has rear air, the ac for camping is a 12000 btu and needs shore power. Headliner replaced at 100k as it started to sag. We highly recommend a lug a loo toilet but we will keep ours and you can get one(15 bucks) Exterior: The exterior has some paint chips on the hood, crack in windshield and some dings on the rear bumper area and door. Pictures of the undercarriage included. There is no rust on body or frame etc. The front bumper and grill have been wrapped so they can go back to chrome. The top has been painted white to deflect heat. Rear bumper has been removed for ugliness and weight but has a class IV receiver hitch on the back in lieu of bumper. The front has a 2” receiver that I made and will support a scooter (I had a ruckus) and also a generator. I installed stirrup steps to help get in. The Renogy solar panels (2, 100 watts each) are on the roof and included. They feed to the 1200 watt inverter in the back of the van as well as the Renogy 100 ah AGM battery. Mechanically: The transmission was rebuilt for church at approximately 100,000 miles. I have replaced the radiator, the water pump, the thermostat, radiator hoses, fan clutch, serpentine belt, serpentine belt tensioner and idler pulley, put a new starter, new alternator, new fuel pump, changed the rear axle fluid, new u-joints, new brakes and brake calipers in front, greased wheel bearings, new catalytic converter, front alignment, new pitman arm, new battery, tune up with new iridium plugs, new plug wires, new cap rotor, changed transmission fluid and filter. This was all preventable maintenance and not required. 2 new tires about 3 months ago. Installed rear wheel extensions to avoid rollover and to give the rear end a wider look. New headlights installed (housing and bulbs top of the line) all new bulbs inside and out, used LED on interior so battery wouldn’t accidentally die. Various other things such as front window motors replaced. It’s not in perfect shape (it is a 2001) but I would trust to drive it anywhere. I’m very mechanically inclined and all preventative maintenance has been done. Anything that is prone to failure has been replaced so I could take it anywhere camping off the beaten path and not worry. I have researched all the weak points and addressed them. I would welcome having it inspected at your cost of course. Van is setup to tow! It has factory 8000 tow rating. Engine is 5.9 Magnum gas engine and 46re transmission. It has 7 point trailer plug and 7 to 4 prong converter. It also has trailer brakes. We have towed our travel trailer and it was a nice pull(about 5000 lbs). We get about 16.5 on highway average but have gotten as high as 18.4. We are down to earth empty nester husband and wife that just wanted to be able to get out and about when we have time and this has fit the bill. We are selling as we are upgrading. We have truly wrestled with parting with the “Goose” as everyone knows of it and has become part of the family. My cell is [contact info removed]].
