We were all in various contract jobs - me a film director and my friend/neighbor worked in the restaurant industry and also on construction jobs. In May we bought a van and combined our collective creative skills. Regis is an extremely talented builder and I lead productions from all sides including fabrications for sets and every job includes design elements. Our biggest challenge was attempting to build this in Brooklyn. We constructed every piece of the van on our street! Very quickly it went from “what in the hell is this…” to “wow that is the coolest home on wheels I’ve ever seen.” Truth is no one in Brooklyn has really seen a Campervan - we aren’t known for the great outdoors. We brought in so many talented artists and builders and that is what truly made this so special. A real sense of community togetherness. Everyone involved did it for the love of the project.
