1991 Toyota Hiace Cruising Cabin - low miles, rhd

$28,500

Seller's Description

This RHD Toyota Hiace 2wd Cruising Cabin is the complete package, a factory built camper in amazing condition, numerous upgrades to enhance your outdoor adventures, and an opportunity for passive income. In addition, this hiace is sporting low miles @ only 97K mi (156K km) and features Toyota's 3L 2.8 liter naturally aspirated diesel engine with 4-speed automatic transmission, renown for its longevity and stability and comes with a completely rebuilt radiator. The exterior is equally impressive, with hardly a dent, scratch, or rust spot on this 30 year young vehicle. Throughout the pandemic my partner and I have used the van to visit family and friends scattered about the west coast and midwest. If you know these vans, they don’t go fast. They are very fuel efficient though and you’ll consistently get between 20-24 mpg. We have loved cruising around in this unique vehicle, more often than not taking the slow & windy roads, camping off-grid in amazing locations, and soaking in the views from the giant glass windows. We have taken great care to make sure the van is always road trip worthy and it has performed without issues on our van trips. We have copies of all the service records since it was imported. The factory buildout remains in great condition-complete with a working DC fridge, two-burner stove top, and sink with both fresh water and grey water tanks. Sleeping options accommodate up to four people, with one bed in the pop top and one bed arranged when the seats are folded down. The middle seat pivots to face the front forward when driving and the rear when dining in. There are seat belts for 7! There are also curtains throughout. The pop top has received new struts and lifts with ease allowing for standing height and the original awning performs as can be expected. We have added roof racks, bike racks, and an off-grid electrical system with solar, allowing you to run all of your electronics wherever you end up and taking full advantage of your time on the road. The van will come outfitted with a complete manual for how to use it and with all your cooking tools, dishware, bedding, etc. allowing you to take your first road trip day one! The Hiace also offers a great opportunity for passive income and comes with an established 5-star account on the GoCamp and Outdoorsy platforms. Van rental has been an increasingly successful industry the past couple years. In the summer months when we aren’t using the van we will rent it out for short periods where the van rents for $165/night. This is a great way to pay back the purchase. While it is hard to part with this rig, we are moving on to new adventures in our lives and using the van less and less. We’ve put a lot of time and effort into this vehicle with the goal to keep it on the road for years to come and are hoping to find a new person to enjoy it. The market around JDM vehicles is growing and if you live in the Portland area, we have a great network of people that we have built and can put you in touch with for all your servicing and troubleshooting needs. You can find a number of other Hiace vans for sale right now in the 30K range. I’ve chosen to keep ours under that as it is 2wd, even though it is lower miles than most that you will find. That being said it has great clearance and has not been an issue for our kind of travel which still includes plenty of dirt and gravel roads. Please send me an email or text message if you are interested. Cash or cashier's checks accepted. Will only respond to reasonable offers. 29.5K OBO. The back door will operate when the bike rack is not loaded. Good for two bikes, road or mountain fit fine. -Yakima roof rack (on longer road trips we always take a cargo box and a small extendable ladder) Yakima Skybox 12 Carbonite roof box and 6’ extendable ladder are available for an extra $500. This long, narrow, and lightweight box is a great addition. -Thule roof rack over the cab with fairing (currently have the solar panel mounted here on hinges to better track the sun but you could do a basket or even small platform deck instead) -New off grid electrical system using mainly Renogy equipment and including a: --175W Solar panel (mounted on hinges for adjustability) --700W pure sine wave Inverter. The pure sine wave offers the cleanest delivery of electricity and is best for charging sensitive batteries i.e.laptops. --30A DC-DC MPPT charger (this manages power input to the batteries from the solar and the alternator which allows for charging while driving) --55A AC-DC power converter (to charge batteries while on shore power) --12V AGM Deep Cycle SLA Battery --Two 12V DC USB outlets and two 120V outlets in the cab --Bluetooth monitoring and control system --Voltage monitor --New house fuse panel --All installed with properly sized wires and fuses -custom Wood dining table and camp table -The old Halogen headlights have been replaced with low voltage LED lights, making driving at night immensely better -New super bright LED tail lights -New water pump, sink drain, and faucet -Propane has been converted for use with a 1-gallon propane tank -New struts @ pop-top and back door -Magnetic bug screens for all operable windows Mechanical work (we have printed and digital records of all work performed) -Oil changes every 5,000 kilometers or 3K miles -September 2021 @ 156,226 km We most recently had the radiator rebuilt. These vans work hard on the passes in the PNW and maintaining the coolant system is critical. After recent testing ours was found to be underperforming and as a preventative measure we’ve had it Recored at Mac’s Radiator Repair Shop in Portland. This will extend the life of the radiator another 15-20 years. -April 2021 @ 144K km- Replace radiator hoses Transmission fluid flush -August 2020 120K km - Replace Water pump Timing Belt Timing Belt Tensioner Timing belt idler pulley Timing cover gasket Crank seal Cam seal Fuel filter Air filter Alternator belts - dual AC belt Thermostat and gasket -June 2020 117K km- Replace fan clutch -110K km- Install 2 new engine batteries and replace Front brakes disc pads 4 drive belts
