Seller's Description
PLEASE READ and watch the Youtube video before inquiring! I am open to offers! 2006 dodge sprinter 3500 camper 223,000 miles 2.7 liter turbo Diesel engine 21 mpg 10 feet from back of seats to end 5 feet across 6 feet tall Bed is full but shorter. Tons of under the bed storage. LIVING SPACE: Sink, fan (with battery), USB rechargeable magnetic lights, storage containers come with the van (two under bed and one under kitchen). Lots of kitchen space. Rear a/c unit is functional, can be taken out but bulky. Floor is faux wood slats that are super easy to clean. Kitchen counter is a sealed wood. Custom backsplash made of real ceramic tile. Walls are pressed wood wainscoting. Ceiling is cedar tongue and groove and waterproof fabric. There was once a little lockbox door in the back door, I cut it out and replaced it with a very thick piece of PVC board. The walls are lightly insulated, but honestly the van stays pretty well regulated because there are no windows in the back and the fan works great. FRONT/CAB: space between seats for a large cooler (not included). Radio works but speakers are bad, I used a JBL speaker to my phone. A/C works great. Two 12V plugs work. Missing slats in the air vents. Vinyl is pretty worn. Headliner was recently taken out and deep cleaned with bissell, reinstalled. Fire extinguisher behind driver seat. Manuals under passenger seat. Spacious glovebox. Windshield and wipers recently replaced. ENGINE: the radiator has been completely replaced in the last few years. Intercooler hose replaced. Battery replaced. Oil changed recently. Rear differential oil changed recently. Filters changed. TIRES: replaced in September 2020, all 6 tires, all terrain. Duelly back wheel. BODY: I painted the hood matte black and then accidentally ran it over while it was drying. So there's a dent in the hood but NOT from an accident, just from me being an idiot. A new hood is not that expensive but they can be hard to find. Structurally, the hood works perfectly fine. I also painted the trim and bottom of the van matte black. It looks sleek now. The white metal on the inside has been repainted with a flat white rust oleum. The undercarriage is in great condition, not rusting. There are plenty of little dings and scratches on the body: the signs that this baby has been down narrow dirt roads to get me to great camping spots. I have had it for 2.5 years and have never had any problems with breaking down. HISTORY: this was a well-maintained air conditioning van for a company in Texas, cared for by the same mechanic all its life. That mechanic told me about it when it was for sale and said "if you don't buy it, I will". So I knew it was a good one. Since I've had it, it's been all over the west coast. It has made it up some dirt roads that were 4x4 recommended, despite being rear wheel drive. It has also driven in snow and ice without a problem. Most of the miles I've put on it are Highway miles, having taken many trips from Dallas to the West Coast and back. While 200,000+ is a lot for a gas engine, it's not bad for a diesel like this one. A well taken care of diesel can last 500,000+ miles. This van is more than enough space for me as a solo traveler, but I have had guests on my road trips many times and been perfectly cozy. If you're really tall or will be living full time with two people, it might be worth building an extension for the bed. There's enough space to make the bed 6' long if you wanted. I'm just short. The mattress can come with the van (it is a memory foam mattress that has been wrapped in a mattress cover all it's life) or I can remove it. Please ask any questions you have!
