2016 Nissan NV3500 high roof conversion van 2WD 106xxx miles 5.6l V8. Great power, you won’t be disappointed, over 15 mpg. Nearly brand new tires ~3000 miles now - takes offs from an NV3500. Alpine color touchscreen headunit w/ bluetooth, apple carplay, and microphone, new door speakers and 6x9s installed in cockpit headliner, backup camera, USB input/charger. A/C Telescoping rear view mirrors airbags Large locking console Factory storage cubbies above cockpit Passenger seat folds down to make a great 3rd seat for the living area and the RV table is within reach Tow package Backup sensors Very comfy cockpit seats. I’ve had no problem spending long days behind the wheel. Rear door stops for 90 degree opening all the way to 270 degree There are some dings and scrapes on this van. I’ve addressed any missing paint as I’ve encountered it. I think a vinyl wrap would transform the look without ever touching body work. I haven’t done it because I figured it would be better to let the new owner choose the design. APPLIANCES 35L ICECO VL35 fridge gets real cold! Mounted on a locking drawer under the couch. Chinese diesel heater under passenger seat, 5L tank inside the slider door- easy to fill. Kept me warm at about 9000 feet elevation Seaflo water pump and accumulator, (switch activated, located next to faucet.) drinking water grade hoses. Deepish stainless sink, extending faucet (I’ve used it as a shower just outside the door), soap dispenser 28 gallons fresh water storage(4x7gal). I have been filtering water as I fill (drinking water grade garden hose/filter kit), so drinking water is on tap. 7 gal grey water storage under sink The compartment for the composting toilet seals well and has an exhaust fan (on a switch) that pushes air outside through a hose - no smell! Use a trash bag (throw it away means no scrubbing ever!) and peat moss. There is a separate container for fluids. It's a pretty neat and simple system that has worked as well as I hoped. There is extra room in the “toilet compartment” of this box to store TP, plenty of peat moss, extra bags, and more. The current fluid container is the best I could find, but it's not really big enough to last very long without emptying. I just haven’t found something in the right shape and size to replace it but I’m sure it's out there. Though using it is not my “plan A”, being self contained provides access to some cool van life possibilities like the app Harvest Hosts. INFRASTRUCTURE Lighting: I reused the factory ceiling lights (3) with their own switches and upgraded to LED bulbs. They are wired to the “house” batt and work great. In an effort to conserve headroom, the floor is simple. Sound deadener, reflectix, then ⅜” sheathing, then linoleum. Insulation: Sound deadening (killmat), reflectix insulation where applicable, and thinsulate everywhere I could put it. It’s cooler inside when it's hot out, and warmer inside when it's cold out! CRLawrence aftermarket window with vents and screens. When sitting on the “couch” just below this window with the vents open and roof fan on there is a very lovely and surprisingly cool breeze. BUILD I have a total of 5 storage bins in the box to the rear of the sink, in front of the water storage. 3 crates, stacked for clothing and 2 bins with lids, one for kitchen supplies/pantry, the second for less used van accessories like an air compressor, the water filter and hose, etc. I chose the size of the bins with accessibility in mind. Even while there’s a bike installed on the MTB mount, I can raise the murphy bed and have access to what I need. Custom couch cushions are comfy but not so big that they are cumbersome to move to get access to the toilet when needed. I sleep on the same mattress at home, it's great. Still Queen width but it has been trimmed to about 73” in length. I’m 5’11 and sleep comfortably, but diagonally when by myself. Bike can fit under bed while mounted Removable roadbike mount on rear door(ski rack), bike can fit under bed while mounted, and rear door can still be opened while bike attached (some planning ahead involved) Eyebolt used to secure murphy bed when folded doubles as a mounting point for TRX exercise straps Ski and snowboard rack on rear door Custom built boxes with ½” baltic birch and some ¾” constructed with pocket hole screws. Very strong boxes and securely mounted to the van. 2 built in shelves near the inverter outlets Ceiling clad in ¼” Baltic Birch Walls clad in headliner material to conserve space especially in the bed area. ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS 2x100Ah renogy LiPO batteries. I have not come close to running out of power. 2000w renogy inverter, access to 3 standard outlets and 2 USB outlets next to the couch 30A Renogy DC-DC charger (charges house batts with engine alternator, safely - switch activated) 2x175W renogy flexible (low profile) solar panels. Very aerodynamic, can't see from ground. 60 A renogy MPPT charge controller Fusebox is AC ready, I have not utilized the AC portion yet, as the outlets on the inverter have been sufficient, but some AC wiring has been run to the passenger side already (easy to add an AC component or just more outlets) Maxxfan deluxe, 10 speeds in or out, thermostat, has remote, cover allows use in the rain Currently no cooking surface but plenty of available power to add an induction cooktop if desired. I have a location in mind. STORY I am a welder/fabricator by trade with some experience in various other trades. I bought this van to have a project in july of ‘20 in SLC. By the time I was able to use it, I realized the project was all that I wanted. I guess I don’t really want to travel solo, though I have taken a couple of trips to try it out. Everything works great, I’ve never come close to running out of power and the only time I’ve had the opportunity to use the DC-DC charger was after I fully recharged my eMTB. I still think the DC-DC is good to have though, because wildfire smoke can seriously limit what solar panels can do. It is totally functional but simple. If you want to personalize a van without having to get into the nitty gritty of all the planning, infrastructure, wiring, plumbing, insulation, etc. this is the van for you. Delivery and assorted extra building materials (mostly electrical) are negotiable. I have the manuals and documents for everything. I can provide details about any part of the build to serious inquirers. I’ve considered replacing the console with a third seat and seatbelt. I have a specific seat in mind that even folds down to a console, but installation would require further modification.
