Seller's Description
Gas prices got you stuck in the house? Are kitted out camper vans too expensive? Looking for something that could be a daily driver as well as a weekend warrior? Your search is over... This 1994 Subaru Sambar Dias II is AWD, supercharged, 5 speed, gas powered, gets 55mpg, is more than capable when it comes to the trails, and just might be the cleanest and most well maintained “kei van” to ever put rubber to road in the U.S. Legally imported and currently registered in NC it’s been a daily driver and weekend romper for well over a year. Classic Japanese vibes throughout starting with the right hand drive, moving through the upgraded pedals and clutch, and a sleek Momo steering wheel give you the authentic JDM feel. The efficient 660cc engine is more than enough to run at highway speeds but also has an extra low gear when you need to tackle that tough hill climb off-road. Meticulously maintained in both Japan and here in the States, mechanically this rig needs nothing to hit the road today. The back seats fold flat, a rarity among most vehicles and especially many JDM vans. There is also an aftermarket air purifier and dome light in the back. Both sliding doors open with ease and their windows roll all the way down. Remarkably, this van has aftermarket AC that blows cold and a heater that works great. Where this van really starts to shine is the custom built camper boxes. With an eye for reducing weight and managing every inch of available space, the boxes offer a flat sleeping area, six drawers, a cutting board, and a hydraulic lifting workspace where your camp stove can go. Behind the drawers are deep vertical storage compartments for clothes, adventure gear, or whatever your heart desires. The middle section can be removed for a makeshift seating area during rainy days and all the drawers can be accessed from underneath the oversized rear hatch. This will allow you to cook dinner or access gear on those blustery days. The entire system was built for easy removal to access the engine compartment underneath the rear of the van. Included in the sale but not pictured are a modular sleeping pad system that can go either on top of the sleeping platform or directly on the floor of the van should you decide to take out the camper boxes. Additionally, a roll of screen and industrial magnets will be included to screen in the back area to keep out mosquitoes and critters for cooking or sleeping with the back hatch open. This van literally needs nothing to hit the trails, the national parks, or get you to work on time, every time. All you need is to outfit with your personal gear and pick a spot to visit! Be prepared for lots of looks and conversations at every gas station and stop light.
