We built out this van for a year of full-time climbing and biking in 2023-24 and have used it for shorter trips and weekends since. We love Ernest (it’s okay if you change his name!), but our family is growing, so it’s time for a rig with more seats. No mechanical issues. Fuel Economy: ~16MPG combined highway/city New AGM starter battery installed Apr 2026 Interior Build Floor: ¾” MVL foam + 1” polyiso for insulation, ¾” AC grade ¾” plywood with vinyl flooring, rubber protection mats included for high traffic areas. Walls & Ceiling: Thinsulate and EZ-Cool (~70% coverage to allow for moisture transfer). Door cavities filled with Thinsulate and Havelock wool. 5/16” pine T&G panels for ceiling and walls, attached to ½” birch ply furring strips bolted to frame with PlusNuts. All holes created in van frame throughout build were primed, painted, and sealed. Windows: CRL window on sliding door with operable awning vent, CRL operable pill window (rear driver side, allows circulation loop). Van Essentials insulated window covers for all windows and roof fan. Seating: Scopema swivel seats for both driver and passenger, and the toilet box functions as third seat for entertaining (no seatbelt). Laguna table mounts with detachable tables for both driver and passenger. Cabinets: 4 overhead cabinets, 6 lower drawers/compartments (plus electric cabinet). Additional toolbox drawer and small storage cabinet located in garage. Vent fan: MaxxAir, rear slider can be opened for circulation loop. Heater: Webasto gasoline heater (connects to vehicle gas tank) Toilet: Nature’s head composting toilet with heating pads for cold temps Monitoring system: Simarine Pico monitoring system (electric, temperature, and H2O tank levels. Additional sensors can be added) Kitchen Oven/Range: Furrion 3 burner propane oven/range Refrigerator/Freezer: Vitrifrigo AC/DC (a pint of ice cream fits and stays frozen!).
