Seller's Description
Camper Van Listing Description This van is custom designed by an aerospace engineer to take a family of 6 (or even 8!) off grid on epic adventures while still enjoying amenities such as an heat and AC, an enclosed bathroom, a hot shower, and a queen size bed for adults. There is seating for 8 including seat belts. Custom elevator bed raises to the ceiling to create an open space in the rear. Two types of insulating help keep temperatures under control during hot summers. Built to avoid thermal bridging. We would take this van to Alaska in a heartbeat without a concern for the mileage on the drive train. Plenty of these vans have twice the mileage, however we can negotiate an engine replacement prior to purchase if desired. Tons of storage all over the van plus a roof rack designed to mount the largest Thuule car top carrier. One of our road trips was at Christmas time and the van took us to the wintry North, the tropical South and carried the clothes, equipment, and Christmas presents for all 6 of us and a pet hedgehog. During this trip we filled up all the water tanks and weighed the van and it still weighed less than the manufacturer’s specified gross weight. Unlike most DIY builds, all rear seating frames and seatbelt attach points are bolted into primary structure. Heavy items like the fresh water tanks and the cooler/fridge could become dangerous in the event of an accident, so they are encased in a welded steel frame that is bolted to the van structure to keep them in place.
