Seller's Description
The Story: It’s a bittersweet day, but we’ve reached the point where our 2001 VR6 VW Eurovan Camper needs a new home. We’ve loved this van and the adventures we’ve had in it but our travels are taking a different shape these days, and she deserves to be out on the road rather than tucked in our garage. If you’re in this group, you already know why the 2001 VR6 is the sweet spot for these campers—that 201hp engine makes all the difference on mountain passes. We’ve tried to be good stewards of this van, focusing our budget on the "peace of mind" upgrades that make camping actually enjoyable. Clean title. With only 102,374 miles, this camper is in good condition and is ready for its next journey! The Basics: Sleeping: Comfortably sleeps 4 (2 in the pop-top, 2 on the fold-down lower bed). Kitchen & Cabin: 2-burner propane stove, sink with water pump, fresh and grey water tanks, and built-in furnace for cold-weather camping. Mechanical Highlights: Transmission: Automatic transmission does not have any issues typical of EVCs. Suspension: Lifted front end with a full set of Bilstein shocks for superior handling (no more knocking fillings loose when going over bumps at highway speeds) Tires: Brand new Michelin Defender tires on 16" alloy wheels (including spare). Batteries: Both new deep-cycle coach battery and starter battery, with an electronic battery switch on the starter battery for storage. Fuel Economy: 15 mpg city/ 18 mpg highway Camper Features: Full Winnebago conversion: Sleeps 4, furnace, sink, and 2-burner stove. Upgraded Fridge: Replaced the finicky Norcold with a reliable all-electric Vitrifrigo 110VAC/12VDC unit. Extras: Fiamma bike rack, Shady Boy awning, and Pioneer Navigation. Includes the removable middle bench seat (seats 6 with extra bench seat, 4 without) and all original manuals. Condition Notes: This van has been used and loved and is in good overall condition. It has a few minor items common for its age: Cosmetic: Some cosmetic paint peeling on the vehicle hood, which is typical for a vehicle of this age. Pop-up Canvas: Shows wear with some holes in the screening. Mechanical: Very slight oil leak and a propane valve that works fine but may eventually need replacement. Service Records: We have most service records, but not all. Interior: The side window over the sink is partially non-operational.
