1985 VW Country Campervan

Seller's Description

This is a rare VW Country Campervan manufactured in Vancouver, WA with an interior package completed in Montana. This is NOT a Westfalia nor a Wolfsburg edition. It has a rebuilt 1.9L VW Vanagon water cooled engine with less than 20K miles on the rebuild. All repair paperwork from 1998, as well as the owners manual plus the VW repair book are included. The interior has a 2 burner LP stove, an ice box, refrigerator, sink, and cupboards. The pop-up center canopy has an adult sleeping area and the couch makes into a bed for 2. There is a second Deep Cell RV battery with a 400 watt inverter. A 10 gallon water tank that functions via hand pump, to the sink. Included is a 5 gallon portable toilet. Mechanically Sound: Rebuilt engine in 2018. Sat in an indoor storage until April of this year. The engine is strong. Newest installments in the van since August 2025 include a new 12 volt engine battery, four new tires, bearings (both sides), an alignment, (2) rebuilt starters, welded exhaust pipe system, and an oil change yesterday. There is a new Propane System installed. (2020) One deep cell RV battery (2023) and inverter installed. New headlamps. Drove the van recently from Washington State across the country to Maine, then here to Arizona. The only issues were the tires, bearings and the starter. Used minimal oil, water, and achieved about 230 miles per gas tank. Cosmetically, there is only one cancerous spot on the passenger rear quarter panel. All rust areas have been treated with Rust-Oleum Clear coat to protect from further erosion. There are no floor boards in the main cabin. The use of rubber mats works well. There is no rust on the floor of the van. There are 2 cupboard doors missing. The main cabin electric system wires have been cut by previous owners hence using the inverter. The electric system is still intact and ready for new wiring. The dash lights do not function. The wiper washer is dysfunctional both front and back. There is no rear cabin heater but the connection is there for future use. The Pop-Up canopy is waterproof and screened. There are 2 screened side windows and a snap on screen cover for the back hatch area. There is a Sony Stereo system with a removable face plate that sounds awesome. The in-dash heater/defroster work fantastic but the fan is noisy. There is an Air Conditioning motor in the engine compartment not currently hooked up. New wipers front and back. This is a great van, fun to drive, and perfect for the weekend get away. It is a rare and classic ride!
