Seller's Description

This is the Holy Grail of Toyota Truck Campers - 1 of 80. Nationwide delivery available. Free airport pickup. Fly in, drive home. The perfect confluence of form and function. Not only exceedingly rare, but also incredibly well-built and designed. This Toyota Hilux Galaxy is 1 of just 80 examples reported to have been manufactured in Japan during the late 80's and early 90's. Featuring Toyota's 2.8 liter 3L diesel engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, 4wd with high and low range, solid front and rear axles, and a one-piece fully self-contained camper this is arguably the best truck-based RV ever conceived. These do not come up for sale often, and when they do, they sell FAST. This rig needs a little bit or work and some finishing details to be fully dialed in, but it is ready to jump in and go at a moment's notice as it sits. And, with an asking price of just $33k + a 12-pack, I do believe this to be the most reasonably priced example to hit the market in the past several years. Truck Features: - 3L 2.8 liter 4 cylinder diesel engine - 93,000 miles - 5 speed manual transmission - 4wd with transfer case and high/low range - Aisin manual locking hubs - Solid front axle - 6 lug solid dually rear axle (with adapter for California Custom 5 lug wheels) - Leaf spring suspension on all 4 corners - Ride Rite Firestone Airbags in rear, with onboard compressor (not functioning) and gauges - Two brand new BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires up front in 30x9.5 on 15" steel wheels - Bull bar with mounted spare tire (also a new BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2) - Four brand new Coker STA Traxion tires in the rear in 30x7 on 15" wheels - Fender mirror - Trucker-style side mirrors - Panasonic backup camera with CRT display - Aerodynamic door side pods (actual purpose unknown, but they are a unique design feature to the Galaxy). - Dual batteries - Air conditioning - Kenwood double DIN AM/FM/CD/Aux/SD stereo - Cup holders - Quartz clock - Manual windows and door locks - Front bucket seats in original Galaxy Camper Features: - Full one piece fiberglass camper shell - no wooden subfloors, etc. - Over cab sleeping area with removable pad for easy access between front cab and rear of camper - Dinette set with seating for 4, which converts into an additional sleeping area - 4x seat belts for dinette seating area - Table with built in cup holders - Onan Microlite 2800 Generator w/ brand new carburetor (110V) - Mikuni diesel parking heater - Shore power adapter - Refrigerator - Sink - Samsung microwave with rice cooker mode (110V) - Eno two burner propane stove with splash guard - Ventline range hood with vent fan - Kitchen cabinet storage - Overhead storage bins - Rear storage closet and cabinet - Under-cabinet lighting - Assorted electrical outlets (110V) - Bathroom sink - Shower - Bathroom vent van - Separate hot and cold water tanks (hot water heated by exhaust) - Coleman rooftop AC (untested) - Privacy screen - Curtains on all windows - New Thetford Porta Potti cassette toilet included with purchase (not installed) - Omnistor 4000 awning (missing extension wand needed for opening) - Folding side step - Tow hitch with 2" ball - Original Galaxy decals and stripes - His and hers Japanese slippers - All original manuals and books Recent Maintenance: - Two brand new batteries - Oil change with OEM Toyota filter - OEM Toyota air filter - OEM Toyota fuel filter - New drive belts - New brake booster vacuum hose - Timing belt done at 99,000 kilometers (~62,000 miles) - Generator carburetor replaced Work Needed: - 110V camper electrical system needs some work. Power comes into the inverter/controller/charger module, but does not come out. Currently, only the 12 volt electrical is working. Some interior lights appear to need new bulbs. - Bath faucet requires replacement - Window seals on the front two upper windows of the camper need to be redone - The paint, especially on the passenger side is faded, and the hood has been replaced - a paint job wouldn't hurt, but it also isn't going to make it any less rugged of an adventure vehicle to leave it as is. - A few of the small lights are missing their plastic covers - Cab AC needs a recharge The truck has been sitting for about a month or two after having the new belts installed. Currently, when driving, there is a little bit of a belt squeak noise. Most likely, something needs a tension adjustment. Sold with all original import documents needed for registration in your state (excluding CA). 100% federally legal. Located in Sacramento, California. Nationwide delivery available and free airport pickup for prospective buyers. Please note, this vehicle is part of the owner's personal collection and is being offered as a private party sale.
