We've done a lot of adventure camping in this family-friendly 1997 VW Eurovan Winnebago camper. We've spent Christmas in the Redwoods, summer in Zion National Park, autumn driving the California coast and spring in the Arizona high desert. We've owned it since 2001, drove our newborn son home from the hospital in it and 18 years later drove him to college in it. We've been responsible owners and kept a regular maintenance schedule. We recently put down a new vinyl-covered plywood floor. We've replaced the carbon monoxide detector and installed new house and starting batteries. The canvas was replaced three years ago. It comes with a vintage cassette tape player and a box of eclectic music cassette tapes. The back seat folds down to become a comfortable double bed and the roof pops up allowing two more to sleep upstairs. There is a two-burner stainless steel propane stove, a stainless steel sink with pressure cold water and a 12,000 BTU propane furnace. (We were plenty warm during a 13-degree F. night camping on the north rim of the Grand Canyon one January.) There is a 12-gallon fresh water tank and an 8-gallon grey water holding tank. The Norcold refrigerator cools to 35 degrees F. Both front seats swivel around to face the back seat allowing up to four people to face each other over dinner. One-of-a-kind, hand-painted petroglyph art runs around the van. It comes with a 2" ball hitch and can tow a modest trailer. There is plenty of storage for food, pots and pans, clothing, recreational equipment. Once the rear hatch is opened you have access to a cold-water hand shower. It fits in a standard city parking spot, giving one the opportunity to do some stealthy urban camping. If you remove the rear seat, which one person can easily do, you can carry 20 full sheets of plywood or sheetrock or 12' long lumber.
