This beautiful custom-built 2013 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 170WB is fully equipped for a lifetime of off-grid adventures. She has been mechanically and functionally perfect for us; we are going to hate to see her go but are moving out of the country and she won’t do well on crowded overseas streets. Mechanical Overview: 148,000 miles on a freshly inspected and well maintained turbo diesel engine that is known to last 700,000+ miles. Comes with a clean title in hand and a clean bill of health from Mercedes Sprinter of Tucson. RWD with a brand new spare. Electrical Overview: The original owner/builder lived and worked remotely full time from the van, so the electrical system is extremely robust. With 4x100AH LiFePO4 Battle Born batteries and 3x300 Watt solar panels, we always had more than enough power for any off-grid phone charging, refrigerator use, and even movie watching. The van is equipped with Victron Energy’s SmartSolar charge controller and the MultiPlus 12V 3,000W inverter charger that allows for shore power charging and simultaneous AC appliance usage. Water System: The van comes with two 5 gallon fresh water tanks and an electric pump that pushes the water through a reverse osmosis filtration system and into the kitchen sink. It also has a 30 gallon water tank that routes to a shower via an electric water heater. In the shower space there is also a Separett Weekend Prime toilet, which works using a composting bag zone in the back half and drain to a grey water tank in the front half. Interior lighting is fully dimmable and separated into front/back zones. Two MaxxAir ceiling fans ensure air flow and cooler temps in summer months, and a Webasto diesel heater cranks out heat for cold winter nights. The entire van is insulated with 3M Thinsulate panels and Havelock wool in the ceiling. This coupled with custom-cut insulated magnetic window covers make it one of the most insulated vans we have ever seen. Exterior Features: A mechanical awning is mounted above the sliding door, providing a shady spot to hangout outdoors.
