Seller's Description

The time has come to rehome my beloved adventure mobile. Originally a Seattle Wheelchair bus, this Ford E-450 Super Duty received fleet maintenance and a replacement engine and transmission before making its way down to Oregon for a full conversion in 2020. Little expense was spared turning it into the off-grid apartment it is today, and the asking price really only covers the cost of materials that went into the build. If you're looking for an off-grid solar powered tiny home on wheels, built with all natural materials and a passion for elegance mixed with efficiency, look no further. The interior: The bus was stripped to the bare frame and had an entirely new galvanized metal floor installed, followed by an insulation layer and plywood subfloor and topped with engineered bamboo hardwood flooring. The walls received birch plywood paneling and framing for custom cabinets and drawers, as well as an Oregon-grown live-edge doug fir countertop. The ceiling was finished in eastern red cedar T&G, and cabinet and door faces crafted from dark-stained red oak plywood. A 2-burner Gaggenau gas stove and stainless steel sink make up the kitchen, while a simple shower and composting toilet make up the bathroom. The 35-gallon water tank and water heater make indoor showers comfortable in any climate. And speaking of climate, the GE mini-split air conditioner easily maintains a 70-degree temperature even when outdoor temps exceed 100. All of this runs off the integrated 1200 watts of roof-mounted solar panels and 7KWH lithium batteries, provided adequate sun exposure. If sun isn't available, you have plenty of backup options including a propane-powered generator, diesel powered heater, and 30 amp shore power plug. The remaining interior space is comprised of massive amounts of storage, including ample space for a fridge and additional shelving, a hidden safe, as well as the original wheelchair lift for moving heavy items. This could easily be removed and the surrounding space customized to suit your needs, so don't hesitate to ask if that's your preference. The floating desk in front of the bench is also easily removable to maximize room. The Mechanical: The backbone of the operation is a 2001 Ford E-450 Super Duty with the legendary 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel. The engine and transmission were replaced with remanufactured units during its life as a wheelchair bus, and though their exact mileage is unknown it's estimated to be in the low to mid 100k mile range. Many upgrades to aid longevity, fuel economy and performance have been made, including a PHP Hydra tuner with Jelibuilt tunes, around $1k worth of upgrades from Riffraff diesel addressing fuel system and turbo efficiency, a massive transmission cooler, coolant filtration system, Redhead steering box, and more. If you research these engines you'll see this covers all the common failure points. Recent maintenance and repairs include all new fluids and filters, brand new batteries, transmission service, many new seals, new rear end gears with amsoil fluid, and 6 Cooper discoverer AT3 tires with only around 2k miles. Transmission and exhaust gas temperature gauges have been added to easily monitor important temperatures and prevent future issues. A few other miscellaneous things include a motorcycle rack on the rear with general storage, the ability to articulate the solar panels for maximum sun exposure, 2-angle rear cameras for rear view, magnetic blackout curtains, a ceiling vent fan with rooftop access, audioengine speakers, etc. Obviously it's impossible to describe everything adequately here, so if you're seriously interested please reach out with any questions - thanks!
