Currently insured + plated and driving on the road. --- Why we’re letting it go We bought this ex-government fleet Astro a few months ago with plans for a camper build, but life shifted and we don’t have the time or budget to tackle the suspension refresh this year. Rather than let it sit, we’re passing it to the next adventurer and will revisit van-life down the road. --- The good: 4.3 L V-6 + full-time AWD Oil pressure: 60 psi cold / 25 psi fully hot. Coolant temp: rock-steady 195 °F even in Texas summer heat. Starts every turn, shifts smooth, no CEL; passed Texas emissions in July 2025 Government-owned & professionally maintained for ~15 years, only 3 owners including myself Fresh tune-up within the last 500 mi: new multi-port fuel injectors, plugs, wires, filters, oil change, battery No Engine light AC Blows cold - no problems with heater or AC --- What still needs attention (priced accordingly) Full suspension/steering refresh typical for high-mileage Astros (think bushings, shocks, alignment) and likely a steering gear tune-up. Ignition lock cylinder is worn key still turns after a few attempts and it fires right up (the starter is fine, but the cylinder needs replacement). Dash lights: ABS light occasionally turns on & “Service AWD” indicators on; stored code for 4WD sensor hasn’t affected drivability. This is the front right wheel hub sensor. Surface rust underneath as it was originally from New York state. Interior is well-used either detail it or gut it for your camper layout.
