Seller's Description
For sale, one of a kind shingle sided camper mounted on the back of a 97 F250. Great for road trips, camping, festivals and driving around town. It’s the coolest thing on the road! Camper The camper is a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind custom rig built by myself and Stevie Hudson, founder of Wonder Rigs and builder of several incredible tiny homes. It has a shingle exterior siding and a standing-seam copper roof. There’s two 100-watt solar panels mounted to the roof that feed into the cantilever to power a 1,500 watt hours battery from Goal Zero. There are windows wrapping around the sides and back. The windows are high on the camper so privacy is maintained while sleeping inside. The two side windows open. The walls are insulated with wool. The interior walls are smooth cedar boards finished with hemp oil. There is a circular truth-window in the ceiling that reveals the wool insulation. There is an LED light strip wrapping around the window that is powered by the battery and accessible with a switch at the entry of the camper. The camper sits on an 8-foot truck bed with pull out drawers accessible from the tailgate. We are working on installing four sets of drawer slides so I don’t have great pictures of that yet. There’s lots of storage space because the drawers are long and deep. There is an alligator door that provides some shade and rain coverage over the tailgate when opened. Two custom iron mushroom handles frame the door for ease of getting up and down. I am 6’5 and the whole thing was built so I would not have to duck. It’s very spacious. It’s all beautiful and feels like sleeping in a treehouse! A true home on wheels. Truck The camper is currently mounted onto a 97 F250 with about 125,000 miles. The truck has pulled it great and the weight is right for a 250. We are currently moving the camper onto a 2013 F250 with 145,000 miles for reliability and ease of servicing. Many maintenance service providers no longer service this model year. This truck camper has been an absolute delight to build and drive. At a festival a couple years ago, a big storm rolled in early one night. People’s tents blew over and flooded. Lightning was heavy and sleep was light. I felt bad for them all as I sleeped cozy and secure off the ground. When I drove it to North Carolina to visit family, my 3-year-old nephew thought it was the coolest thing he’d ever seen. It’s been to hot springs of New Mexico and on ferry rides to wooded islands of northern Michigan. Built by friends with love, this truck camper is a gem. I hope to find a good fit for this sale.
