Seller's Description

Adventure awaits... And this 2018 Quigley 4x4 Ford Transit will get you there. When my wife and I chose vanlife, we wanted a vehicle as capable as our 4Runner—one that could handle deep sand, rock gardens, and steep fire roads. This van delivers. This van is a true 4x4 with high/low range. The differentials were regeared from 3.31 to 4.10 to accommodate the larger 245/75/R17 tires. With Method 17 bead locker rims, you can air down your tires and tackle rough terrain with confidence—whether you're navigating washboard roads, crawling over rocks, or cruising through deep desert sand without fear of getting stuck or popping a bead. Backwoods Adventure front and rear bumpers enhance approach and departure angles, making it easier to traverse washed-out sections of road. The Van Compass intercooler skid plate safeguards critical engine components, while Falcon 2.1 rear struts improve off-road handling for a smoother ride. A Quigley 4x4 lift combined with larger tires provides an impressive 14 inches of ground clearance—enough for nearly any adventure short of dedicated Jeep trails. Importantly, aside from the flexible heater exhaust pipe, nothing protrudes below the van, eliminating the risk of damaging essential components on rough terrain. When it’s time to air back up, an ARB twin air compressor and 1-gallon air tank makes the process quick and effortless. With an over engineered electrical system, you’ll have reliable power for any situation. Featuring a 500Ah lithium battery bank, 300W of solar charging, 1440W of alternator charging, and a 3000W inverter. All electronics are Victron and can be monitored via Bluetooth. A Starlink router is mounted in the garage and a SmartPlug passthrough connector lets you plug the Starlink dish directly into the side of the van via ethernet cable. The main water tank holds 20 gallons, supplemented by an additional 8 gallons of removable RotopaX water packs mounted in the garage. The electric water heater holds 4 gallons and the grey water tank holds 16 gallons. Unlike most van owners, you will never have to worry about frozen pipes in the winter. The water tank and lines are fully insulated and heated, with a thermostat-controlled system that automatically kicks in if the garage temperature drops below 34°F. We’ve camped in -15°F conditions for days without any issues. Once you arrive at camp, you have all the comforts of a small apartment. The passenger seat swivels, and the two Lagun tables provide plenty of space for one person to work on a laptop while the other cooks dinner. The MaxxAir fan keeps the interior cool and for even more airflow, two BugWall nets allow you to fully open the side and rear doors - letting fresh air in and keeping the bugs out. A Laveo dryflush toilet is ready when you need it, eliminating the hassle of black water or compost. Simply replace the cartridge once it’s full and throw away the old one—no mess, no stress. The Isotherm fridge/freezer is excellent for keeping food fresh and has been well-maintained with regular cleaning. The interior lighting was thoughtfully designed, featuring two independently controllable zones—one for the kitchen and one for the bedroom. There are also reading lights on each side of the bed and rechargeable motion sensor lights under the sink, the bed storage, and the garage so you can easily find things in the dark. The queen size bed offers exceptional comfort for a great night's sleep. All of the cabinets are secured with strong magnetic latches to prevent them from popping open while off roading. Similarly, the tables are securely stored behind the driver's seat with bungee cords and the cab overhead shelf is equipped with bungee cords to keep items securely in place while the vehicle is moving. The back of the van features an outdoor shower attachment, and for added flexibility, the kitchen sink head can be swiveled out the side window for a quick shower. The van originally came with a Fiamma F45S awning, but we removed it before starting our travels. The mounting brackets remain, making reinstallation simple if you decide to add one back. To stay warm, the van has a Webasto 2kW gas heater with a Webasto SmarTemp 3.0 digital Bluetooth controller. The heater has been adjusted for high-altitude mode and we’ve used it up to 9000ft elevation with no issues. Insulated magnetic front window covers keep the inside warm on winter nights and offer complete privacy from passersby if you need to stay at a rest stop. Additionally, the speaker system was upgraded with JBL GT7-6C speakers because the OEM speakers did not bring the boom. Mechanically the van is in excellent condition and drives flawlessly. It was in a minor front end collision shortly after purchasing it, but it’s impossible to tell now. The only issue we encountered was the exhaust manifolds warping which is an extremely common issue on Gen 1 Ecoboost engines. Both manifolds were replaced with the updated 9-stud stainless steel OEM manifolds, ensuring this issue will never return. This van was our perfect little home and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
