Seller's Description

I am selling a 2017 Ram Promaster 2500 High Roof with 156" Wheelbase. I bought this van in 2020 during the pandemic from a dealership; it has only one previous owner and they gave it to me with minor exterior damage and replaced siding. I renovated the van within 3 months of owning it. It features 2 lithium batteries powered by both 4 100 Watt Solar Panels and is connected to a shore power line as well. The system is designed with a 1000w inverter with multiple outlets throughout. There is wiring unused for expansion within, as well as wiring to a speaker system (the speaker system is not included beyond the two speakers). There are multiple light sources throughout the vehicle with Zone control from front to back for conservation of power etc. There is a hookup for a Dometic (or similar sized cooler) available as well. The stove top is a 2 burner propane system that works without power so long as you have an open flame available, but is also connected to power for a simple spark ignition. There is a carbon monoxide detector in the vehicle. The fan has been replaced and rewired to maximize air flow in the sleeping space. This would be easy to replace with the same size fan if needed in the future. The water pump is located near the rest of the electrical system in the "garage" of the vehicle, under the bed. This pump is strong and has an off and on switch should your water reserves deplete. There is running water to both the sink in the kitchen area (one large unit comprising the stovetop, sink, and water storage) as well as an outdoor shower space/rinsing area with a hose (however you'd like to use it). The water tank is currently a 10 gallon tank attached to PEX tubing that can be modified to fit your water needs. I recommend installing a dehumidifier or similar item in the area to collect any spillage etc. There is clothing storage in the form of drawers under the bed. These are well-used and could be redone or fixed so as to stay in place a little better than they currently do. I built the drawers myself so with time they have warped ever so slightly. There is a pull out table that has a kickstand to pull it out for up to 3 people to use while sitting on the bench in the main space of the living quarters. This bench houses the refrigerator (should you choose to install one) , a small storage space for quick grabs of things, and a space designed for a toilet (not included). The Garage of the vehicle is the space under the bed with room to fit a bicycle if you wanted as well as camping gear, etc. The heater for the vehicle is installed here with a diesel pump etc. This has caused some smell of gasoline despite the ventilation being okay, but could easily be remedied with a better storage system for the diesel gasoline. The heater requires power and gasoline to work, with the exhaust system coming out of the rear tire well. The whole electrical system can be turned on and off with a button as well as a particularly ineffective APP, for best results use the onboard system to turn things on and off. The batteries are halfway through their life cycle and will need to be replaced within the next 3-5 years depending on usage etc. Make sure you consult someone before handling this yourself, or even a quick youtube tutorial featuring the specific kind of solar panels etc. The electrical system has room for growth. The floor is laminate and hardy. The insulation is mostly WOOL with some Styrofoam in certain areas. This does not mean that the vehicle will not get hot or cold, it is a metal tin can and you can only prevent so much from the weather no matter what someone tells you. I replaced the Alternator in 2021. I replaced the fan belt as well as steering pins and fixed the power steering in 2024. I fixed the air conditioning as well. The vehicle was broken into twice while I lived in NYC. I had to have the entire passenger's door replaced as well as the windshield during this time. The vehicle gets around 20 MPH, and has cruise control for those long drives. The backup camera is the only way to see out of the back as there are no windows in the living space. The passenger's seat can turn all the way around to become a part of the living space with curtains dividing the driving and living spaces. The vehicle has some small defects on the exterior that do not make any difference in the interior performance etc, the vehicle will need new tires, and the brake pads are going to go within the year as well but because of this I have (already) reduced the price by 15%. I love this vehicle. I spent 20 hour days working on it myself and with the help of my father. I never intended to sell it, but when I moved to New York City to follow my dreams, the city did not take kindly to my living in a van and I have had to make the difficult decision to let it go and find a home for it. These kinds of vehicles are meant to be lived in and I wish I was able to do that but it's not the right time for me. Please consider this as your new home or vacation companion; it has allowed me to travel from coast to coast at a reasonably affordable price, visit national parks, and save a ton of money on hotel rooms etc. The price is negotiable but for reference: I bought it for $22,000 back in 2020. I invested over $10,000 in the material and products that built it. I am happy to fix anything within it for the right price but I am also under no illusion that I can sustainably make a profit off of this - at this juncture I simply need to give it a better life than I can do at the moment. -Ike Wellhausen @justlikeike on IG or @Van_Overboard for pictures and videos.
