I’m a solo senior female traveler, and this van has been very reliable. It’s been a workhorse, often driving at highway speeds all day long for days in a row. I chose the Ford Transit because it’s much easier to find a repair shop and get standard parts. And I can park almost anywhere. This is a long wheelbase (148"), extended (22' total length), high roof converted cargo van. I get around 12 MPG in the city and 18+ MPG on the highway. Fuel economy is reduced on ascents and at high speeds, but I can generally go 70 MPH without sacrificing too much. My dog and I lived and traveled in the van for a year while I waited for my housing to be ready. I’ve moved into my permanent place now, so I need to sell the van. It was very functional for me, but all the finishing touches/tweaks haven’t been completed. I’m including lots of materials and odds and ends - headliner material for covering the columns, latches, Velcro, magnets, etc. Currently the van sleeps one in an east/west configuration. The length of the bed is about 70”, but I left the head and foot soft (insulation and curtains), and someone who’s 6’ tall slept there comfortably. There’s a shelf on the door side of the twin bed where I put cushions to extend the width, and it can also be extended to about full size. The refrigerator has been perfect for me. I use the smaller compartment as a freezer (or a colder section) and the larger side as a fridge. I have it plugged in to both electrical systems (AC and DC), and it runs on 12v unless I’m plugged into shore power or switch the control box to 110. I don’t cook much on the road, but there’s a toaster oven that I’ve used a few times. The Cuddy toilet worked great, and I just slid it under the counter. Could also store under the bed. All the components can easily be removed or modified. The bench seat is bolted to the floor (and the seat belts were professionally installed). The lower cabinets are also just bolted to the floor. The bed is built of several open box cabinets that can be rearranged (and have been several times). If you wanted to fit a shower in, you could remove the bench seat. I kept a small foldable bike in the garage. This is the only known issue. The van has been regularly and thoroughly maintained since I bought it in April 2023, and I have all my maintenance records. It didn't come with any from previous owner.
