Seller's Description
2005 Ford Econoline e150 Cargo Van || 253,278 miles || $2,000 OBO || Los Angeles I bought this 2005 Ford Econoline e150 Cargo Van in 2020 from a private seller in upstate NY (previous two owners were small businesses using it) and currently live in Los Angeles, CA. I did a minimal build on it in order to quickly start traveling which I did from 2021-2023. Since I am not doing vanlife anymore, I'm looking to sell my van to someone who can fully appreciate it, whether they want to do vanlife or get away from a bad housing situation. I'm currently pricing it at $2,000 but I'm open to the best offer. Some things to know: CONVERSION DETAILS - When I bought the van, there was some rust on the van floor. I used a wire brush drill to remove the rust and then applied POR-15 Rust Protection Paint to protect it from rusting again. Then I painted the floor and walls with ECOS White Paint (non-toxic, zero VOC paint). - When I removed the rust from the floors, it did leave a few holes in the van floor including a larger one in the back of the van (see picture). I meant to screw a metal piece into it to cover it but never got around to it. I'm including the metal piece from what I cut out of my van roof to install the fan, so you can do it yourself if you'd like. - I decided to insulate my van floor using Havelock Wool by using small wood panels (held with 3M VHB Tape 4991 double sided tape) to hold up the floor and putting Havelock wool in between them (see pictures). You can remove the wood panels and VHB tape using WD-40, Goo Gone or a mixture of water and lemon oil. I will include my extra VHB tape if you'd like to use it. - I used 0.75" plywood for my van's floor (can also be used as subfloor) which I painted white with ECOS paint (it's not nailed down). You can also replace it with 0.25" plywood to use as a subfloor - I have multiple 8'x4'x0.25" and 4'x4'x0.25" plywood panels, I can include for free if you want them (can also be used for walls, cabinets, etc). - I used Havelock wool as insulation to fill in the holes in the van's walls (see pictures). - I meant to add walls using white plywood panels and put up 1 side (side door side) using nails on the bottom and VHB on the top (not connected anymore). But then I changed my mind so you can take this wall down if you don't want it (I'm happy to take it down for you). - I installed 4 Renogy Solar panels, 100 Exterior Watt 12 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panel (Compact Design) on the top of the van in January 2021 using Renogy's mounting hardware (400W total, performance warranty of 25 years). I connected them to my power stations through the roof so there is NO electric system provided (see pictures) but you can add your own if you'd like. - I installed a Maxxair 00-05100K MaxxFan Ventillation Fan with White Lid (no remote) on the roof, however, this is currently NOT working. I tried to fix it and I think it needs a new electrical keypad (very cheap to buy) in order to work. - There is some light paint residues on some of the windows of the van (see pictures) from when I painted some of the exterior but they don't prevent being able to see out the front, back or side windows. The side and back windows open from the bottom (see pictures) so you can leave them open during light rain. MECHANICAL AND OTHER DETAILS - The van currently has 253,278 miles. Keep in mind that Ford e150 vans can last up to at least 300K miles (and can run even longer with maintenance and rust prevention). - There are two seats in the front and those plus the front of the van have been professionally cleaned in the last month. The passenger seat was steam cleaned 3 times due to some stains, a few of which are still visible (see picture). The driver's seat has a few rips in the fabric. - Both the heat and the A/C in the front of the van work well but there is no additional heater or A/C unit in the van. - There is still some rust on the exterior bottom of the van (see pictures) but it doesn't stop the van from working. I also removed some rusty pieces from the exterior bottom sides of the van so it is uneven (see pics). - The front driver's side mirror is missing the bottom mirror piece (see picture). - There is a large crack on the back right light and smaller cracks on the front lights (lights all work fine - see pictures for cracks). - I replaced the transmission in August 2021, I replaced all the tires with new ones in March 2023 and the battery was replaced in January 2024. - Currently, the brake light is on which according to my mechanic is due to a rusty wire. You would have to get this fixed yourself as it is being sold as is. - The van runs fine - the only issue it's currently having is that when it gets low on gas (low fuel light comes on), it can take a little longer for the van to go from a stopped position (such as at a stop light) to about 30MPH. With continued pressure on the gas, it does get there. If you continue driving with the low fuel light on, the van can also slow down and stop and have a bunch of lights come on. If you turn off the car again and start it back up, it works again so you can drive it to the nearest gas station. Neither of these issues have ever happened when the low fuel light was not on. - I have a clean title for the van. It is registered to South Dakota but currently the registration is expired (I meant to sell the van earlier). You can choose to register it in California (or other state) but would probably need to fix the brake light issue to pass inspection. Otherwise, you can register it to South Dakota (they don't have any inspections). You can choose to register it to South Dakota even if you live in another state, however it may be illegal to do so if you are a resident in a different state. You can also change your residency to South Dakota as I did - you just need to spend one night in the state and sign up for a mailbox service. - I have extra materials from converting the van and you are welcome to take any of them for free. This includes a BLACK+DECKER Jig Saw (BDEJS600C), plywood (as mentioned previously), electric sander and sandpaper, screws, and various other tools/supplies. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be happy to answer. If you're interested in buying the van, feel free to send me an offer.
