For sale a very rare and great Sprinter. This is a 2006 Dodge (Mercedes engine and build) Sprinter 2500 mid length. I am the original owner. It was bought from Dave Smith Motors in Idaho in 2006 and shipped directly to Van Specialties outside Portland OR. I am a sales rep in the bicycle industry and needed a rig that would allow me to camp and bike and visit my retailers on the road all over the Pac NW. This van was Outside Vans’ 3rd or 4th van they made in conjunction with Van Specialties. It has all the amenities you need to live on the road.
Propane is the main source of power for the van. It supplies the heater, on-demand hot water heater and the 2 burner cooking stove. It is a 5 gallon propane tank located under the van with an outside fill valve on the drivers side located at the back of the van. It has a 10 gallon fresh water tank. There is no grey water tank Just a drain from the sink. The electrical system was completely redone by Outside Vans in the fall of 2023. This was a $20k+ redo and it is working perfectly. The van also got a new Fiamma awning and new alloy wheels in 2023. The van has a solar panel on the roof to help with recharging the system. I bought it with the largest alternator available at the time to help with recharging of the electrical system during driving. The Fridge is a dual power unit, electrical and propane. Currently the only item not working on the van is the propane clicker to start the propane furnace for the refrigerator. That is an easy fix, just something I have not gotten to. The electrical power/switch to power the fridge works fine and the fridge functions on electrical. The van has an amazing custom stereo with two amps, one for the subwoofer and one for the speakers. The subwoofer is located under the passenger seat. Four speakers (two in custom door cabinets and two in the back wall of the van) and two tweeters up front with a a new head unit installed in 2023. The van has OEM seat heaters for both front seats as well. The front passenger seat has a 360^ swivel installed. There is an outdoor hot/cold shower. The bed is a 3 part system along with custom made cushions (3 part) for the mattress. It has two roof vents to help keep airflow and cool the van in the summer. It also has an additional single bed that hinges off the wall in place of the two person main bed, if you need more storage room in the van. It also has an anti sway bar and load manager installed to help when the van is fully loaded with water and gear. This also helps in lessening the side-to-side sway of the van due to its overall height. I have every receipt for service from the van back to day 1. It has been cared for extremely well and has seen a lot of the US. It has never let me down. I didn’t drive it in the winters and so for being 18 years old the mileage is pretty reasonable and that is 258k original miles. It has been an amazing van and will continue to be for years to come. 2006 was the last year of the 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine from Mercedes. If you know what that is then you know it is a sought after one, since repairs are easy and it has a long life ahead of it. Plus no DEF fills required or BlueTEC to deal with! The only reason I am selling this van is I bought a new van that has a few more features and it was time for something new is all. The first $35k gets it.
