Seller's Description

1997 Ford Club Wagon Campervan ~118,000 miles ~6.8 L V10 Engine $17, 000, OBO, feel free to make an offer! I’m selling my self-converted campervan because I’ll be going to grad school and looking for a bigger van. This van spent most of its life in CA and AZ. I lived in it for 6 months traveling & working int Utah & Arizona. This van is ready to be lived in! The murphy bed allows for a comfortable mattress and a bed that doesn't have to be assembled every day. When the bed is up, there is plenty of space to lounge, do yoga, cook, etc. This van has about 6' of standing height, so you can stretch out and walk around inside. The Iceco VL 60 is one of the largest 12v fridges on the market, and is dual zone so you can have a freezer and a fridge. The electric water pump is connected to 6-gallon, interchangeable jugs. Not only can you fill up with fresh, filtered water at almost any grocery store, but if anything goes wrong, you still have access to your water, unlike a traditional tank (this happened to my friends who had a 25 gallon tank, something with their electrical messed up, so they couldn't access any of there water for a week!) This van is equipped with 200ah of lithium ion batteries, which are charged by 200 watts of rigid solar panels on the roof, as well as through a DC-DC charger while driving the van. The compost toilet is super convenient, I'd way rather use my own toilet than go in public! There is also a fan that vents from the toilet area to the outside, so there is little to no smell. The 1000 watt inverter allows for laptop charging, running a small blender and electric kettle for morning coffee! I'd having my french press set up so I wouldn't even have to get out of bed to make coffee. Mechanically, this thing is a beast! I have had no major issues. I drove this across the country twice, drove it to work every day this winter, and took it on trips about every weekend. I have kept up with regular maintenance and oil changes. This van is very easy to work on, and you can find parts for it at any auto store. The strong engine makes going through mountain ranges a breeze. If you want any more photos, videos, or have questions, feel free to reach out. I am willing to drive within reason if you want to take a look at the van! Recent work: 115,000 miles: Spark plug replacement 110,966 miles: Brake fluid exchange, Fuel filter replaced 107,000 miles: replaced ball joints, outer tie rod ends, brake pads, EGR Valve, new rotors, new inner & outer bearings, alignment Features: -Aluminum framing, strong & lightweight -Murphy Bed w/ 5.5 inch custom mattress + mattress topper (74” x 53”). Having the Murphy bed really opens up the space, and there’s room to put down a yoga mat. The mattress is very comfortable, unlike the foam cushions that many vanlifers sleep on. I have a history of back problems, so a good mattress is essential. -Maxx air fan, blows in and out at various speeds -15 gallon fresh water (3, 5-gallon jugs), 6 gallon grey tank. You can fill these jugs up anywhere! -Seaflo electric water pump and accumulator tank, on a switch. -200 watts solar on the roof -200 amp hour Litime Lithium Batteries -1000 watt renogy inverter -50amp renogy DC-DC + MPPT (charges batteries from solar and while driving) -Brand new Iceco VL60 Dual Zone chest fridge & freezer -DIY compost toilet -Over the cab storage (above the green curtains-hard to see in the photos!) -6ish feet of standing height (I am 5'9") -Overhead puck lights, and a reading light with USB plug-in next to the bed. -Walls & Ceiling insulated with a combination of 3M Thinsulate + Havelock Wool. -Fiberine High Top -Screened windows on the high top are great to let are in, and also to inconspicuously peak and see whats outside. This van is ready to be lived in by 1 or 2 people! I loved living in this van, and am excited to share it with someone else. It has all the features to make it suitable for Vanlife, and there is still some space for you to customize it to your liking. I have driven this van from AZ to SD a couple times, and used it as my daily driver while taking it on trips every weekend this winter. It was very reliable for me, and never broke down. I've done some minor repairs and maintenance, and because these vans are so common its super easy (and inexpensive!!)to find parts! Problems: -Cab A/C does not work (I don’t know why, I haven’t had it looked at yet) -The window covers I sewed do not work very well so they will let some light in or fall off, should be replaced/redesigned -Door power locks do not work -Key does not work in sliding door -Probably needs new rear shocks -There is a little cosmetic damage on the counter because of a dripping faucet- faucet has been replaced and counter resealed Located in South Dakota, willing to drive for a serious buyer.
