Seller's Description

Can’t afford a custom sprinter? Great! Neither could I. That’s why I built out this van - “The Meat Wagon”. It was lovingly named by its former owners who used it as a BBQ delivery vehicle. It’s a 2008 E-150 with the 4.6L V8. I purchased it in August of 2022 at 106xxx miles and slowly added to the build over the following 9 months. It has since been used for about a year to travel around Canada and The US. It currently sits around 147xxx with around 40k of those miles added by me taking place on the highway. The roof has been sanded and has a new clear coat, and I buffed out all of the rust on the floorboard/throughout the interior. It has an inch of foam underneath the floor, and the walls are insulated with Havelock Wool and 3M Thinsulate. All of the furniture is built with 3/4in birch or maple. The interior roof is 1/4in cedar. There are 3 upper cabinets which were plenty to store enough clothes and books for me, and there is extra storage next to the sink that locks via padlock. The pantry is the piece that sits between the two front seats and has a lid that opens and a drawer underneath. One of the biggest things I needed for this van was ample garage space for climbing gear. I was able to fit a 5” and simple Organic crash pad with two large bins next to it. The back doors have a Masterlock pad. I personally cut, stained, and sealed the countertop. I had a custom organic mattress made that is 4” and is actually quite comfy. I am a little over 6ft, and I am able to squeeze on the mattress alone if I sleep from corner to corner. I made and sewed an extra foam extension that sits flush with the mattress. It’s covered in a blanket in the photos, but this allows one to sleep a little longer. I think someone even up to 6’5” or so could sleep comfortably. I also made custom window shades. The rear shades button into the doors and the front shades sit in the grooves of the window. All have reflectix and they have a small layer of insulation. I have stayed in the van well into negative windchill and was comfortable most of the night. I used a buddy heater for warmth, but a diesel heater could easily be installed up front. It has an inverter, so you can plug small home appliances in. It also has a USB-C, USB, and cigarette lighter outlet permanently installed. I never dipped below 80% charge even when everything was on full blast in the middle of the summer. There are also 4, 12v puck lights in the ceiling that are on a dimmer switch. Besides that, the AC runs cold and the transmission seems to be shifting perfectly fine. It’s worth mentioning that it doesn’t have a tow hitch, so it never moved super heavy loads besides what would fit in the back. Appliances: Alpicool CF55 Refridgerator (55 Liters w/ dual compartment) MaxxAir Fan Deluxe (w/ controller) Foot pump sink with 7 Gallon Fresh/7 Gallon Gray Electrical: 200ah Bluetooth Lithium Ion Battery (Renogy) 40a DC-DC Charger (Renogy) 1000w Inverter (Renogy) 3x100w Solar Panels (Renogy) 30a PMW Solar Controller (Renogy) All wiring was completed based on the FarOutRide blueprint and checked by an electrician friend of mine Mechanical: Listed below is all that I have done to the van and when it was installed: Battery (10/2023) Alternator (10/2023) Suspension (03/2023) Tires (03/2023) Front Brakes (05/2024) Alignment (05/2024) Oil/Fluids (At respective intervals. An overhaul was also completed when I bought it. I have all records since I purchased the van) It was fully inspected by Cody’s Auto in Franklin, TN at the end of May 2024, and everything that was needed was done including replacing the vent fan, tire alignment, replacing a ball joint, full front breaks, and adjustment of the steering wheel/column. I have all this paperwork and will provide it. The Bad: There is a crack in the windshield that I did not have time to fix. It happened just a few weeks ago and spread before I was able to get it filled. The doors - if you have had a similar van you know that the factory cables are horrible. I have replaced the cables for the side doors and the back doors, but I did not get around to fixing the front two doors or locks. The front doors function properly, but the passenger door will not unlock from the outside. It’s annoying but could be fixed pretty easily. The driver’s door and the side door locks work fine. The most recent mechanic said that the rear brake pads will need to be replaced in the near future as they are at around 35%. There is a slight squeaking, but there is no shaking or lurching. I took it the shop for this specific reason, and they replaced the front breaks and a ball joint. It brakes consistently and smoothly now. Paint - There are small chips missing throughout the van. Fortunately, I don’t really see any major rust spots on the exterior, but It may require some new paint in the future. Bumper - There’s a very noticeable dent in the rear bumper. I purchased it like this, and it hasn’t caused me any trouble. It’s pretty ugly, though. Feel free to ask me any questions about the van. Serious inquiries and offers only, please. I’m open to offers. It is currently located in Nashville, TN, but I would be willing to drive it anywhere within reason if purchased and if you cover the gas.
